Our Recreation Department is looking for a dedicated Logistics Worker II to join the team.

Position Responsibilities

Performs a variety of duties required for the preparation of facility spaces within the Community Knowledge Campus, preparing them for public use, including performing a variety of hands-on work such as equipment setup and takedown, minor repairs, cleaning and maintenance. Maintain the integrity of the Fieldhouse rules and guidelines.

  • Monitors daily schedule for bookings, users, classes/programs and meetings to ensure room and facility is set up and ready for use.
  • Prepares and organizes daily setup & takedown of facility equipment and spaces for drop-in schedules, regular rentals and special events throughout the campus.
  • Provides proper and necessary equipment to patrons; and ensures equipment is inspected, maintained, and stored correctly.
  • Facilitates birthday parties. Setting up room, greeting the guests, providing support during the party, including clean up and take down afterwards.
  • On-site logistical point of contact for execution of small to large-scale events, tournaments, swim meets, provincial events, etc.
  • Responsible for last-minute changes for user groups with an ability to problem solve for double bookings, missing equipment, and preparedness of spaces.
  • Evaluate Event Plans for large-scale events, make amendments in collaboration with Supervisor.
  • Hourly headcounts in physical spaces to be collected, then entered for data tracking of spontaneous usage.
  • Ensuring the CKC Field & Grandstand is prepped, opened and closed properly for regular rentals, bookings and special events.

Facility and Team Support

  • Monitors patrons for appropriate wristbands, responds to guest inquiries and service requests.
  • Available as frontline support to encourage guests and members to follow appropriate facility expectations, along with guest and member engagement.
  • Providing support, direction, and leadership to the Logistics Assistant and Logistic Worker I.

Qualifications

  • 1 – 2 years of directly related experience as a Logistics Worker I or equivalent experience in a similar position.
  • Ability to be self – directed, working with your own schedule of tasks to be completed without supervision.
  • Valid Standard First Aid with CPR level C and AED is required.
  • Ability to work in noisy and stressful situations.
  • Ability to perform physical requirements of the job including walking, lifting, standing for extended periods of time and performing repetitive tasks.
  • Ability to deal with conflict situations.

Hours

The standard workweek consists of an average of 40 hours, with the specific schedule being determined by the immediate supervisor.

Compensation

Salary range $28.47 per hour as per the Out-of-Scope Agreement.
