Fike Corporation, a rapidly growing international manufacturer of pressure relief, explosion protection, fire suppression and detection equipment, has an opportunity for a Logistics Intern. Fike is a privately held business located in Blue Springs, MO with over 400 employees locally & over 1,200 employees worldwide.
Job Summary:
This position will support the core tasks within the Logistics department. This role will focus on training and learning. The Logistics Intern will assist higher level Logistics Operators. Primary exposure will be in the stockroom and material handling. Providing a good cross section of exposure to the employee while filling a need for expanding capacity within the department are primary goals.
Primary Responsibilities:
1. Orientation to Fike's business system by viewing and processing basic transactions.
2. Pick customer orders in the stockroom.
3. Performs light kitting in the stockroom.
4. Delivers product from receiving to the next point of use.
5. Counts product to support the cycle counting process and puts away product in the stockroom.
6. Other basic support functions as needed.
7. Adheres to safety practices, 6S, and follows Fike policies, as well as ISO9001.
8.Forklift training applies only to those candidates who qualify and is not considered essential for this role.
9. Maintain confidentiality of all information processed.
Performs related duties as assigned. Regular and consistent attendance is required.

Work Environment:
While performing the duties of this job, the environment is general office work and the employee is regularly required to walk, talk, hear, see, stand, sit, and use hands. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand and walk. The environment might vary between an office setting and plant/shop as well as outdoors as necessary. Proper safety
guidelines must be adhered to.
Job Qualifications:
REQUIRED: High School Diploma in progress or completed. Intermediate knowledge and skill using Microsoft Office PowerPoint, Word, and Excel, and proficiency using other software applications, including Adobe and Google Docs. Must be able to meet new challenges and work with a variety of personalities. Must have a basic understanding of the responsibilities of working in an office setting. Ability to read and understand technical drawings and customer/industry standards.
COMPENSATION: starting at $20 per hour, and will be based on the candidate's experience.
