The Logistics Fulfillment Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of order fulfillment, inventory management, and global shipping logistics to ensure the timely and accurate delivery of products to customers. This role ensures that warehouse and distribution activities align with company standards for efficiency, quality, and customer satisfaction. The supervisor leads a team of global logistics personnel, coordinates with internal departments, and implements process improvements to optimize workflow and reduce costs.
Job Functions and Performance Standards:
Supervisory Functions
· Supervise and coordinate daily activities of warehouse and logistics associates to ensure efficient operations
· Provide training and coaching to develop team members’ skills and support career growth
· Foster a positive, collaborate, and safety-conscious work environment
· Address employee concerns and resolve conflicts in a timely and professional manner
· Maintain and update job descriptions; participate in interviewing and hiring new team members
· Assign tasks and manage employee schedules to meet operations targets and deadlines
· Lead process improvement initiatives to enhance productivity and reduce costs
· Negotiate contracts and manage relationships with third-part logistics providers, freight forwarders, and customs brokers
· Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) such as delivery times, freight costs, and inventory accuracy to drive continuous improvement
· Utilize logistics software systems (WMS, TMS, ERP) to streamline operations and improve visibility
Export Compliance
· Maintain the Export Management Compliance Program, including documentation of procedures and monitoring for process adherence
· Receive, respond to, or delegate inquiries related to customs clearance issues or international shipping delays
· Stay current on international shipping laws and regulations by collaborating with logistics partners and government agencies
· Oversee and maintain a comprehensive library of documentation required for international trade (e.g. Certificates of Compliance, MSDS, Country of Origin statements)
· Mitigate compliance risks by educating employees and customers and providing guidance on export regulations
· Develop and manage the global logistics strategy for international transportation, including both air and ground freight
Warehouse Management
· Implement and monitor inventory management systems to optimize storage, retrieval, and overall warehouse efficiency
· Manage stock rotation to prevent product expiration, maintain quality standards, and maximize space utilization
· Monitor inventory levels and ensure accuracy through regular cycle counts and prompt resolution of discrepancies
· Oversee daily warehouse operations, including receiving, storage, and shipment of goods, domestic and international
· Supervise picking and packing processes to ensure order accuracy, operational efficiency, and adherence to quality standards
· Build and maintain a receiving team with expertise in Imperial’s receiving procedures, including inspection, documentation, and quality assurance, ensuring compliance with Good Distribution Practices (GDP) as defined by the Facilities Manager
Quality Assurance & Safety
· Ensure compliance with GDP and QMS standards throughout all warehouse operations
· Implement and maintain quality control procedures, including documentation and record-keeping
· Promote a culture of safety among team members
Collaboration & Process Improvement
· Develop, schedule, and drive cross-training opportunities within the department
· Identify opportunities for process improvement within the warehouse
· Coordinate and develop alignment with our UK facility and Outsource Partner Distribution facilities to ensure consistency in process, documentation, and communication among all facilities
Education:
· 2-year college degree or equivalent specialized training in export customs and foreign trade
Licenses/Certifications:
· N/A
Experience:
· 2-3 years of experience in international traffic documentation
Skills:
· Solid computer skills, including experience in the Microsoft Office suite of products
· Strong analytical skills are required.
· Ability to interface with people at all levels of the organization and in different functional areas, both as an individual contributor and as part of a team, as required.
· Ability to prioritize and focus on important issues. Required to work in both the office and the manufacturing area.
· Strong emphasis on international transactions and trade compliance.
· Understanding of Global Supply Chain Operations
· Knowledge of customs regulations, INCOTERMS, and trade compliance
· Experience with logistics analytics and cost optimization
Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) and transportation management systems (TMS)
