Job Description Summary

The Logistics Coordinator Team Leader manages the day-to-day work of all assigned Logistics Coordinators (LC) in a manner that shall meet project requirements in parallel with supporting needs of the LC. Impacts the team’s ability to achieve safety, quality, delivery/service, and cost objectives. This position is a working team leader that will focus 60% on people leader activities and 40% LC work.

Job Description

Responsibilities:

  • Take ownership, ensure execution, and continually communicate updates to involved parties proactively.
  • Coach/Mentor assigned LC’s in standard work activities, provide team training, conducting 1:1 sessions with LC’s, operational and administrative issues/escalations.
  • Drive continuous improvement for their team and participate in initiatives as directed by LC Leader.
  • Report to Logistics Coordinator Leader and provide critical updates and escalations as needed.
  • Remain accountable for all defined KPI’s and their trends.  Understand drivers and facilitate the related reviews with necessary actions/timelines.
  • Work with Logistics Project Managers (LPM) and cross functional supply chain representatives regularly via participation in optimization and execution of daily transportation and shipment planning.
    Ensure orders/shipments are optimized via TMS and WMSA systems and planned for timely and in –full service to end customer.
  • Facilitate communications/coordination between internal customer groups & external carriers to ensure attainment of service level objectives.  Focus efforts on timely pick up/delivery and overall partner satisfaction.
  • Monitor data flows between ERP systems, TMS, and internal project management systems to ensure synchronization for successful transpiration execution.
  • Lead aspects of application of carrier performance management programs and techniques; providing reporting, documentation, and recommendations to drive improvement.
  • Identify OOG cargo and download & distribute handling/transport drawings to carrier/routing team.
  • Report loss of damaged freight as required via workflow.
  • Conduit for router and LPM to ensure compliance and delivery. 
  • Review contract, complete TMS Project Set Up & expedited shipping instructions.
  • Accountable for on-time pick up, on-time delivery and cost KPI’s. 
  • Manage vessel RFQ/award process, including rate negotiations and ensuring billing accuracy.
  • Proactively solve problems/issues as they arise with routing team or shipment tracking utilizing multiple contacts for communication path.
  • Follow EHS rules and ensure team compliance. 
  • Immediately report incidents and near misses to direct reports and EHS Leader.
  • Immediately shut down any operation when realized life or serious injury risk is present.
  • Collaborate with LC Leader and Logistics Project Managers to ensure optimization and execution of daily transportation, shipment planning and adhere of contract requirements
  • Lead team of Logistics Coordinators to plan and execute outbound global logistics function for HDNU and Aero projects.
  • Further task not involved in this job description that the immediate leader/manager assigns verbally or in writing.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Logistics, Transportation, Engineering, Project Management or Supply Chain Management
  • At least 5 years of experience in Transportation (carrier experience preferred), Logistics, Demand/Supply Planning, Deployment/Replenishment Planning, or similar supply chain-related functions

Desired Characteristics:

  • Strong understanding of supply chain and transportation planning business drivers, organization structures and transportation key performance indicators
  • Familiar with and/or have worked with Transportation Management Software
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills (engage with client stakeholders, warehouse, & logistics providers)
  • Capability to understand, manage, prioritize, and re-prioritize with a sense of urgency / Should be able to multi-task, prioritize and handle quick-turn projects
  • Superior attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to work under direction as a positive team member with a high tolerance for ambiguity and change
  • Strong analytical mind and quantitative abilities with problem-solving aptitude
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively work in a multicultural environment

For candidates applying to a U.S. based position, the pay range for this position is between $86,300.00 and $143,900.00. The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set.

 

 

Bonus eligibility: discretionary annual bonus.
