Logistics Coordinator

We are currently hiring for a permanent Logistics Coordinator role. As part of this team your main duties will be booking and managing outbound shipments. You must have excellent computer, communication, and organizational skills, as well as enjoy working in a fast-paced, high-energy environment prone to frequent changes and edits. This position works closely with our Internal Sales team, Warehouse/Shipping and our transportation carriers.

Reporting to the Logistics Manager, you will be working at our manufacturing facility in Whitecourt, Alberta, Canada.  Hours of work are Monday to Friday, 8 am to 4:30 pm.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Coordinate, schedule and manage outbound shipments to ensure on time deliveries
• Communicate with the Internal Sales team and Shipping warehouse updates on shipments
• Work directly with carriers to secure and book shipments
• Communicate loading schedules/priorities with Shipping warehouse
• Monitor/trace shipments and expedite shipments
• Efficiently respond to a high volume of email inquiries/phone calls daily
• Strong communication skills, organization skills, attention to detail
• Other duties as required

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:

• 1-3+ years of related experience in transportation or logistics is preferred.
• Intermediate user of MS Excel and MS Office.
• Knowledge of transportation and shipping with just-in-time production and customer deliveries
• High School diploma required at minimum; Supply Chain (SCMP) and/or Logistics (CCLP) designation is preferred
• Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal
• Creative problem-solving skills
• Energetic, motivated, strong work ethic and a positive attitude
• Highly adaptable in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment
• Effective prioritization skills
