Lead Marketing Technology Operations Manager

Thryv
Full-time
On-site
United States
$102 - $137 USD yearly

About the Position

At Thryv, we’re a team that lives by teamwork. However, it’s not the work that drives us, it’s the respect, trust, and care for each other that defines us as a team. We’re a diverse community of trendsetters who do our best work in a fun, relaxed environment. Technology never stops evolving and neither do we. We’re always looking for the best and brightest team players to join us.

This role serves as the hands-on technical owner and sole system administrator for HubSpot and the broader top-of-funnel marketing operations ecosystem. While maintaining accountability for traditional Marketing Operations functions (campaign operations, funnel management, attribution, and performance measurement), this role is primarily responsible for the architecture, configuration, automation, data integrity, and integration of HubSpot to support both product-led and sales-led growth motions. This position designs and builds scalable lifecycle automation, lead and PQL routing, scoring models, attribution frameworks, and cross-system data flows, acting as the system of record and technical authority for all marketing and growth automation.

Responsibilities

  • Acts as the sole HubSpot administrator and technical owner, responsible for system architecture, configuration, security, governance, and release management across all marketing, growth, and lifecycle use cases.
  • Designs, builds, and maintains end-to-end lifecycle automation, including lead, PQL, MQL, and opportunity routing, scoring models, deduplication, enrichment, and handoff logic between Marketing, Product, and Sales.
  • Architects and implements a comprehensive attribution and funnel measurement framework, including Original vs. Current source tracking, multi-touch attribution, conversion instrumentation, and revenue reporting.
  • Partners with Growth, Digital, Web, Product, RevOps, and Data teams to design the technical systems and data flows that support PLG onboarding, in-app engagement, trial conversion, and sales-assisted journeys.
  • Leads the hands-on configuration and integration of marketing and growth platforms (HubSpot, Pendo, product analytics, data warehouse, enrichment, orchestration, and engagement tools), including workflow automation, APIs, sync rules, and error handling.
  • Builds and maintains advanced automation and orchestration, including event-driven triggers, behavioral segmentation, audience creation, and personalized journey execution across email, in-app, and sales engagement surfaces.
  • Establishes and enforces data governance, lifecycle standards, and system documentation, ensuring compliance with privacy regulations, audit readiness, and operational consistency across GTM platforms.

Who We’re Looking For

  • Bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) or equivalent experience, required
  • Degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, or related field, required.
  • Master's degree (or international equivalent), preferred
  • 9+ years of related experience, required.
  • 12+ years of related experience, preferred.
  • Expert-level, hands-on HubSpot administration, including object model design, workflow automation, scoring, routing, attribution, integrations, and lifecycle governance.
  • Deep understanding of Marketing Operations and Revenue Operations processes, including campaign operations, funnel management, conversion optimization, and pipeline attribution across PLG and sales-led motions.
  • Strong systems architecture and data fluency, including experience with event-based tracking, CDPs, reverse ETL, CRM syncs, identity resolution, and analytics pipelines.
  • Ability to translate GTM strategy into scalable automation, data models, and system design, not just reporting or process documentation.
  • Proven experience owning complex, business-critical platforms as a single-threaded technical authority.
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills with the ability to work effectively with Marketing, Sales, Product, RevOps, Data Engineering, and executive stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of compliance, data privacy, and governance best practices with the ability to implement them directly in system configuration and automation.
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills with a bias toward root-cause analysis, system reliability, and operational scalability.
  • Ability to travel less than 5% of the time.
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Must successfully complete pre-employment screening process, as required.
  • Must successfully complete any required training or orientation courses, as needed.
