About the Job
PVLabs is a small, growing, but highly specialized aerospace systems company designing and building next-generation airborne imaging systems for the Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance market. Our systems are critical element for military, civil and commercial aircraft involved in airborne surveillance be it military, border or maritime patrol, search & rescue or environmental protection.

As a Junior Buyer, you wont just be processing purchase orders, you'll be learning how advanced technology supply chains actually work. You'll be part of a small, high-trust procurement team that makes sure our engineers, production planners, and technicians always have what they need to build these mission-critical systems.
This is a role where accountability, attention to detail, curiosity, and follow-through matter as much as your technical ability as a Buyer. You'll be exposed to complex, high-mix/low-volume assembly, where every part counts and every decision has direct impact. You'll support sourcing, purchasing, supplier communication, and some ERP management, while learning how controlled-goods procurement operates inside a defense-grade environment.

What You'll Own
1. Procurement Coordination & Purchasing Support
- Create and manage purchase orders for production materials, custom-machined components and highly sensitive electro-optical components ensuring accuracy in pricing, part numbers, and delivery dates.
- Maintain up-to-date supplier contact details, quotes, and order confirmations within our ERP system (Genius).
- Track open purchase orders, follow up on late or at-risk deliveries, and escalate potential delays to the Procurement Lead or Planner.
- Support sourcing of new suppliers, obtain quotes, and assist in supplier evaluations and onboarding.
2. ERP, Data & Documentation Management
- Enter and update supplier, item master, and cost data in ERP to maintain procurement accuracy and traceability.
- Support integrity of Bills of Materials (BOMs), standard cost entries, and material planning parameters.
- Assist with reporting, data clean-up, and procurement metrics that support decision-making and transparency.
- Maintain procurement records for compliance with Controlled Goods and ITAR requirements.
3. Supplier Communication & Logistics Coordination
- Communicate daily with suppliers regarding delivery schedules, shipment tracking, and quality issues.
- Support logistics documentation, customs paperwork, and Controlled Goods shipment coordination.
- Build early-stage relationships with vendors based on trust, responsiveness, and clarity.
- Participate in supplier meetings and internal production reviews to stay aligned with project needs.
- Work Closely with the planner to support shipping/receiving and inventory adjustments
4. Continuous Improvement & Learning
- Contribute to small procurement projects aimed at improving processes, accuracy, and supplier reliability.
- Learn and apply purchasing best practices including RFQs, cost analysis, and terms negotiation.
- Work closely with the Procurement Lead to understand the full lifecycle from sourcing through delivery and payment.
- Willing to take ownership of a problem and see it through, actively communicating with the various teams to ensure whatever the problem is, its been solved.
- Develop a working knowledge of how procurement integrates with Finance, Engineering, and Production.

Requirements
- 1-3 years of purchasing, supply chain, or materials coordination experience (co-op or full-time).
- College diploma or Bachelors degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Operations, or a related discipline.
- Strong Excel and ERP skills (Genius ERP or equivalent preferred).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational habits, with a focus on accuracy and follow-through.
- Eligibility for the Canadian Controlled Goods Program and ability to obtain a Security Clearance.
Nicetohavements
- Experience working in an assembly, manufacturing and/or engineering environment.
- Familiarity with how ISO9001 / AS9100 quality system impact procurement
- A genuine interest in procurement, logistics, or contract management.
- Enrollment or intent to pursue an SCMP or APICS certification.
- Curiosity about aerospace, defense, and technology-driven manufacturing.
