Lindsay Windows is a leader in vinyl replacement and new construction windows with seven locations nationwide. We source materials from reputable suppliers who share our commitment to quality. Our centralized purchasing team supports core processes across all locations and is seeking a detail-oriented Purchasing Agent with a junior buyer skillset to support daily procurement operations and data management.

This role is ideal for someone who not only executes purchase orders, but also actively manages vendor relationships and maintains accurate item and supplier data to support efficient, cost-effective operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  •  Execute purchase orders based on system-generated suggestions and operational needs 
  •  Maintain and update item and vendor data, including lead times, pricing, minimums/maximums, lot sizes, safety stock, and vendor sourcing options 
  •  Monitor inventory performance by reviewing overages, shortages, and system recommendations 
  •  Respond to and resolve invoice discrepancies in coordination with accounting and vendors 
  •  Facilitate inter-company transfers and related purchase orders 
  •  Partner with plant locations to support accurate cycle counts and inventory integrity 
  •  Review and correct inventory valuation reports at month-end 
  •  Communicate production order status and ensure material availability aligns with production schedules 
  •  Confer with vendors to obtain product information, pricing, delivery timelines, and service support 
  •  Review bills of material (BOMs) for accuracy and recommend updates as needed 
  •  Address defective or nonconforming materials with internal teams and suppliers 
  •  Build and maintain strong supplier relationships 
  •  Ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory standards 
  •  Identify and recommend cost-saving opportunities 
  •  Perform additional duties as assigned based on business needs 
Requirements:

  •  3–5 years of experience in purchasing, materials planning, or a junior buyer role in a high-volume manufacturing environment 
  •  Experience executing purchase orders and maintaining purchasing or ERP system data 
  •  Strong attention to detail, especially with data accuracy and inventory parameters 
  •  Excellent written and verbal communication skills 
  •  Ability to collaborate cross-functionally with operations, accounting, and vendors 
  •  APICS certification (or working toward certification) is a plus 
  •  Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
Compensation: $55,000.00 - $68,000.00 per year
