Description

As a technically savvy, focused, and driven IT professional you will play a pivotal role enabling 24/7 quality support (day shift and night shift) by monitoring IT enterprise applications and infrastructure for all the J.D. Irving Limited group of companies.   

You will be exposed to various technologies from IT infrastructure, enterprise business applications, security operations and operational technology. You will find the role both challenging and rewarding while offering lots of opportunities for development in your career. 

This position requires full-time on-site presence. 

All successful applicants must meet requirements for Canadian Controlled Goods Program (CGP), Canadian Government Security clearance, and U.S. International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).  



Responsibilities
  • Monitor enterprise infrastructure health using industry leading monitoring solutions. 
  • Stay vigilant for and respond to cyber security threats to protect our systems and data. 
  • Investigate and respond to systems and security incidents, mitigating potential impact. 
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide timely resolution on priority incidents. 
  • Centralize communication with key stakeholders providing accurate status updates. 
  • Support the regular maintenance and updates support a stable and secure infrastructure. 
  • Continuously work to improve standard processes and documentation for quality work. 
  • Provide end user support outside of regular business hours. 
  • Work in a shift-based schedule, typically 3 days on and 3 days off, to provide 24/7 coverage. 


Qualifications
  • A post-secondary degree or diploma in Computer Science, Cyber Security, or another relevant field 
  • Solid understanding of network protocols, security best practices, and incident response procedures
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively within a team environment
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work well under pressure 
  • One or more years prior experience delivering quality technical support 
  • Leadership mindset that owns problems and strives to be the best 
  • Able to demonstrate a proactive attitude, ownership, process improvements and problem analysis / resolution skills  
  • Able to describe, create and manage system documentation, including standard operating procedures, and routine status reports 
  • A self-starter with the ability to work independently or within a team  

 Extras:  

  • Experience with one or more of the following technologies: ManageEngine OpManager, Cisco Meraki, VMware, SCOM, SCCM, Dell EMC Avamar, Dell EMC Networker, Unix, Microsoft office applications, Intune, Splunk and ServiceNow 
  • Relevant certifications such as CompTIA Security+, Network +, A+, or equivalent
