About the Company
Advantage Financial Services Group is a quickly growing multi-entity financial services firm offering investment advisory, insurance, estate planning and tax services. We pride ourselves on our close-knit team, personalized client service, and commitment to strong fiscal management and compliance.

We are seeking an Investment Operations Analyst to oversee and enhance the firm’s investment systems and operational infrastructure. This role will ensure the seamless performance and data integrity of our Portfolio Accounting System (Addepar) and Trading Platform (Co-Pilot/Flyer), supporting a national network of Portfolio Managers and operational staff.

The ideal candidate combines strong analytical and technical capabilities with a passion for investment management and portfolio construction. This position offers hands-on portfolio operations work with growth potential, including support towards Portfolio Manager registration.

This role also represents a unique opportunity to help build and shape the firm’s investment technology stack from the ground up. The successful candidate will play a hands-on role in setting up and refining systems, workflows, and integrations that will form the foundation of the firm’s national platform. This is an ideal role for a motivated professional eager to blend investment operations with systems design in a fast-scaling organization.

This is a remote role (you must be located in a major Canadian city center Calgary, Ottawa, Toronto) and will require occasional travel to our offices in Canada & the US.

Key Responsibilities:
 Systems Oversight & Data Integrity
  • Maintain and oversee the integrity of all investment data within Addepar and Co-Pilot/Flyer.
  • Ensure accurate reconciliation of nightly downloads from custodians.
  • Manage data mapping, exception reporting, and system integrity processes.

Billing & Reporting
  • Produce and validate monthly billing files for all client accounts.
  • Prepare quarterly performance reports and ensure timely, accurate delivery to clients and advisors.

Model Management & Trading
  • Load, update, and maintain firm-wide investment models within the portfolio system.
  • Support trade execution, order routing, and fulfillment using Co-Pilot/Flyer.
  • Collaborate with Portfolio Managers to implement new or updated model portfolios.

 Training & Support
  • Provide training and ongoing support to national operational and advisory staff on Addepar, Co-Pilot/Flyer, and related workflows.
  • Act as a subject matter expert for internal users on system functionality and best practices.

Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Partner with Portfolio Managers and compliance teams to support new strategies, products, and workflows.
  • Work closely with the Finance and Operations teams to improve processes, reporting accuracy, and data transparency.

Qualifications
Education & Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Mathematics or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Minimum 2 years of investment operations experience in a financial services environment.
  • Working on or completed Canadian Securities Course.
  • Strong analytical and database management skills, with a high attention to detail.
  • Experience with portfolio management systems (Addepar preferred) and trading platforms (Co-Pilot/Flyer, or equivalents such as d1g1t, Croesus, or Envestnet) a bonus.
  • Understanding of custodian data flows and performance & billing reconciliation.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills with a collaborative mindset.
  • Keen interest in investment management, portfolio construction, and financial markets.
