JOB OVERVIEW
The Inventory Group Lead reports to the Inventory Management Supervisor and is responsible for providing direct assistance in the leadership, guidance and mentoring of the Inventory Support Team. This role is responsible for the effective operation of all inventory management related processes within KF Aerospace, as follows:
- Inventory audits
- Tooling audits
- Audit reconciliations
- Variance reporting
- Troubleshooting
- Problem solving
- Stock location structure monitoring
- Company-wide inventory & process oversight
- Transaction oversight
This role also requires active engagement in completing performance reviews and interviews with the assistance of the Inventory Management Supervisor.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The Inventory Lead is responsible for the following areas:
Supervision
Providing day to day leadership and guidance to employees by ensuring that the inventory management processes at KF Aerospace are completed accurately and effectively by:
- Coaching/mentoring of the Inventory Support team through positive feedback and affirmation providing an in-depth understanding and application of inventory management strategies and practices
- Ensuring cross-functional collaboration with internal and external customers to meet requirements
- Creating and maintaining a consistent and positive work environment that supports staff with effective team leadership, interaction and personal growth through training and instruction
- Ensuring that all daily priorities, tasks, and transactions are assigned and completed
- Ensuring that all relevant Inventory & Tooling Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) are met and any deviation from these KPI’s is communicated to the Inventory Management Supervisor prior to exceeding the deadline or immediately after
- Ensuring that the Inventory and Tooling dashboards within PowerBI are consistently monitored to ensure KPI compliance
- Monitoring annual inventory & tooling audit progression ensuring on time progress
- Oversight of the Business Support teams to ensure the effective training in all functions of Materials Handling & Stocking, DO/RO Processing of orders and restocks all while ensuring parts are in standard format for stocking.
- Ensuring that all training materials and desktop SOP’s are accurate and up to date thereby ensuring staff expectations in the performance of their daily tasks.
- Providing input to the Inventory Management Supervisor regarding employee performance and completion of employee performance reviews (P3) and interviews
Part Administration
Ensuring that part master data integrity within M3 is maintained and supports QA requirements by:
- Identifying areas for data quality improvements and assisting in the resolution of data quality problems through the appropriate choice of error detection and correction, process control and improvement or process design strategies
- Collaborating with subject matter experts, implements data strategy, policies, and controls to ensure the data is accurate, complete, secure, and reliable. This will be accomplished through the development and implementation of strategies to translate business requirements and models into feasible and acceptable data warehouse designs to ensure that business needs are met
- Working closely with KF SME’s to ensure the alignment of part master data rules and the operations of the application meet all IT requirements
- Ensuring the quality of part master data in M3 and the development & documentation of processes with other functional data owners to support ongoing maintenance and data integrity
Inventory & Tooling Audits (Facility and Bases)
Managing inventory audits ensuring that requirements are being completed by:
- Overseeing inventory variance reporting for high value discrepancies in accordance with the SC Delegation of Authority
- Ensuring suitable staffing to complete audits in a timely and efficient manner
- Ensuring discrepancies in products, packaging & contents are noted and investigated
- Ensuring parts labels and system quantities match the physical counts being performed
- Obtaining progressive count information from staff at remote locations for repairable and consumable materials for effective reconciliation of all discrepancies in a timely manner
- Ensuring all data entries into the stocktaking register are completed daily
Inventory Reconciliation
Ensuring that the M3 System matches the physical inventory count by:
- Researching discrepancies through the auditing of M3 system, supporting documents, inter-departmental communication, and sound judgment
- Reconciling variances by investigating sources of discrepancies, recording and accounting for all inventory adjustments
- Reconciling authorized cost adjustments working directly with Inventory Management Supervisor and Finance Department
- Monitoring dashboards ensuring compliance to all KF Shelf Life Material Policies (including Customer Owned Material)
Inventory Location Structures
Ensuring that location structure naming conventions and philosophies are adhered by:
- Organizing and defining inventory location structure (physical and in M3)
- Monitoring dashboards ensuring all locations conform to company expectations
- Working with KF Hangar Support teams to ensure the assignment and labeling of physical locations meets company expectations
- Working with KF Hangar Support Supervisors to monitor and control items placed in staging locations to ensure parts/material is issued IAW defined processes
Documentation and Administration
Demonstrating a solid understanding of company workflow, systems, and requirements of other cross-functional departments with the ability to collaborate with a high degree of accuracy, including:
- Researching data in PowerBI.
- Researching parts in M3
- Researching historical data in M3
- Familiarity with the SCPM, with an established mandate to maintain process accuracy pertinent to all inventory management practices
- Versed in all areas of the Employee Policy Manual and others ensuring adherence to all policies and procedures
- Assisting the KF Certification Clerk when extra support is required
Other duties as assigned
- Special projects as assigned by the Inventory Management Supervisor or the Supply Chain Manager
REQUIREMENTS
- Grade 12 diploma or equivalent
- CPIM Designation or related Supply Chain education
- Minimum of 3 years experience in Supply Chain Management with a proven knowledge of SC procedures and documentation
- Inventory Management and Supervisory experience would be an asset

SALARY
The salary range for this role is level 6, $57,800- $72,200 annually. The expertise and technical skill level of the candidate is assessed during the selection process for placement within the band. Note: The salary range maximum signifies full job knowledge.
