The Opportunity
We’re hiring an Inventory Manager to own the accuracy, availability, and flow of inventory across our store and yard. You’ll report to the General Manager and run a consistent rhythm of replenishment, receiving controls, cycle counts, and inventory reporting.
What You’ll Be Accountable For
- Replenishment + min/max management to protect in-stock performance while managing overstock risk.
- Receiving accuracy and same-day system posting (PO match, discrepancies, damages, labelling, put-away discipline).
- A structured cycle count program, variance investigation, root cause, and corrective actions.
- Governance for inventory adjustments, documentation, and audit readiness in partnership with Finance/Accounting.
- Shrink/damage trend tracking and practical loss prevention controls.
- Seasonal readiness planning (spring/fall/winter) and protection of “A items.”
- Monthly review and actioning of slow-moving/aged/obsolete inventory to improve turns and reduce deadstock.
- Item setup, locations/bins, lead times, and vendor links.
- Weekly/monthly KPI reporting (stockouts, accuracy trends, shrink, aged inventory, top movers, exceptions) with recommendations.
- Cross-functional coordination with Sales, Operations, Yard/Store leadership, and Finance to resolve inventory issues fast.
- Support substitutions, special order visibility, and rapid resolution of inventory issues impacting customer experience.
What You Bring
- 3+ years inventory management in retail/wholesale/yard operations (landscape/building materials preferred).
- 2+ years running cycle counts, investigating variances, and improving inventory accuracy.
- Experience overseeing receiving, put-away/location discipline, and transaction controls.
- Comfort with ERP/POS and tools like Excel/Sheets and Evergreen (or similar is a strong asset.
- High School Diploma required;
- Supply Chain/Business/Operations diploma/certificate is an asset.
- Valid Driver License
