Summary/Objective

The Inventory Control Specialist is responsible for various duties related to inventory count, product labeling, and proper product distribution.

Essential Functions

  • Performs inventory audit and random inventory counts as needed.
  • Extensive knowledge and application of the labeling system.
  • Works closely with the receiving team to confirm the incoming material is accurate and properly labeled and stored.
  • Uses the P21 system to manage inventory quantities and adjust discrepancies as needed.
  • Investigates significant inventory discrepancies.
  • Quality checks orders to ensure accuracy before being shipped to customers.
  • Reports damaged or missing material to the Branch Manager.
  • Pulls orders as needed.

Work Environment

This position works primarily in a warehouse setting. This role routinely uses measuring devices that accurately measure the product. This job may occasionally require work to be held in a professional office environment and routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines.

Physical Demands

The employee is occasionally required to sit, climb, or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee may frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 70 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position. Typical days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Travel

Travel may be expected; primarily local during the business day, although some out-of-the-area and overnight travel may be expected.

Required Education and Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous fastener industry experience.
  • Forklift operator certification preferred.

Preferred Education and Experience

  • P21 software experience is a plus
  • Working knowledge of Excel, Word, and general computer knowledge.
