General Summary

We are seeking a Temporary Import Logistics Coordinator to support daily import operations while covering a current employee on a Leave of Absence. This role is responsible for coordinating inbound ocean shipments from overseas vendors to our distribution center and supporting the accuracy and timeliness of shipment data across internal systems.

The Import Logistics Coordinator will assist with tracking shipments, communicating updates related to vessel delays, port disruptions, customs activity, and other logistics issues, and ensuring key stakeholders receive accurate, timely information. The role requires strong attention to detail, the ability to follow established processes, and the flexibility to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

This is a hands-on, non-exempt position focused on execution, coordination, and administrative support within the import logistics function.

 

Essential Job Functions

  • Maintain open communication and develop relationships with manufacturing vendor network.  Make daily/weekly contact with both FOB/LDP/DDP vendors to make accurate updates.
  • Communicate to the Production Department with vessel delays, port closures, US Customs exam, or natural disasters. Ensure the system is updated to reflect accurate information.
  • Evaluate and process the forensics data is collected for shipment details vessel details via steamship lines, CFS, Freight forwarders.
  • Manage the Daily Logistics Report to ensure data provided to Production and Sales is accurate.  

Manage all relationship with Custom Broker, Freight forwarders and inbound domestic truckers.

  • Update booking details and broker clearance date into Full Circle.
  • For Import Ocean shipments (only), ensure Importer Security Filing is filed by cutoff date at origin, to avoid penalty from US Customs.
  • Assist the US Customs Broker with the necessary shipping documents with proper MID (Manufacturer ID), COO, Water Resistance Certificate, IFI, etc.
  • Review drayage to decrease time, reduce demurrage and cost.

 

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Knowledge of the product life cycle including and production timelines. 
  • Ability to effectively identify and resolve problems.
  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to accuracy and detail. 
  • Ability to prioritize tasks appropriately to ensure deadlines are met.
  • Ability to work independently and as a team player.
  • Ability to juggle multiple projects at one time.
  • Must be able to work effectively across multiple functions with business colleagues domestically and internationally

 

Required Education and Experience

  • Must have 3- 5 years of transportation/procurement experience. 
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and respond quickly to problems.
  • Must be organized and be able to work under pressure in order to meet deadlines and be able to perform self-initiated and planned activities.
  • Full Circle knowledge a plus
  • PLM software experience also a plus
