Preferred Skills and Education: 
Advanced user of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint; Power BI is a plus. 
Junior or Senior, (at minimum, completed Sophomore year of college).

The Internship Experience

About the Collection Operations Team (Hauling / Transportation)
This internship is part of the Collection Operations crew—a hauling / transportation team known for its commitment to safety and sustainability, innovative thinking and collaborative spirit. You'll get to explore projects, learn how things work behind the scenes, and help WM drive purpose in everything we do. Whether you're diving into data, creating reports, pitching ideas, or helping make things run smoother, what you do will matter—and we want to hear what you think. 

 
II. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Uses problem solving skills, determines problems, and understand fundamental parts of the problem.
  • Conducts analysis as directed, and prepares and delivers insights and recommendations based on analysis.
  • Synthesizes findings and draws conclusions from analyses and makes oral/written recommendations to supervisor and/or manager.
  • Executes tasks directly related to functional projects and/or process improvements.
  • Communicates issues and roadblocks related to areas of responsibility.
  • Expected to do 10-15% of travel in relation to work, typically, within a 50-mile radius; (no overnights).

     

 
III. Qualifications
 
A. Required Qualifications
  • Interns must have a High school diploma or GED (accredited) and be pursuing or have recently completed a Bachelor’s degree (accredited) in a field of study relevant to the internship.

  • Office and Hauling Site: This job primarily operates in a professional office environment and in a hauling site; routinely requires the use of standard office equipment such as computers, phones, copy machines, etc.

     

 

The expected base pay for this onsite/office position is $23.00/hour. This range represents a good faith estimate for this position. The specific salary offered to a successful candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate’s relevant experience, education, training, certifications, qualifications, and work location.
