Reporting to the Head, Client Relations & Operations, Institutional Solutions, the Operations Analyst will support administrative requirements and collaborate with different teams to ensure the smooth operation of the group annuity business.

 

What will you do?

  • Answer annuity inquiries and provide accurate information to annuitants regarding their pension entitlements (annuity certificate).
  • Answer annuity inquiries and provide accurate information to various internal parties (Finance, Pricing, CSD, External vendor) regarding annuitant payments and/or pension entitlement, plan provision, etc. Prepare data requests for plan sponsors and pension consultants.
  • Monthly reconciliation of premium deductions, secondary insurer payments, etc..
  • Monthly reconciliation of buy-in payments, and prepare and submit monthly wire payment requests.
  • Responsible for ensuring annuitant records are up to date by working with third party vendor.
  • Conduct critical errors check on bimonthly payment files.
  • Support for onboarding of new pension plans.
  • Assist with all other administrative requirement to ensure smooth operation.
  • Feed suggestion regarding ways to improve and automate administrative processes and implementing process-oriented solutions.

Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of Excel is required.
  • 1-2 years of relevant pension administration experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of pension regulations is an asset (PBA, ITA) but not required.
  • Strong knowledge of SQL and VBA is an asset.
  • Knowledge of Python is an asset.
  • English/French bilingualism is an asset.
  • Excellent verbal & written communication skill Is self motivated and organized.

Salary:

$45,500.00 - $84,500.00

Salaries will vary based on factors such as location, skills, experience, education, and qualifications for the role, and may include a commission structure. Salaries for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on number of hours regularly worked. For commission roles, the salary listed above represents BMO Financial Group’s expected target for the first year in this position.
