TITLE:  Teacher, Natural Resources- Career & Tech

TERM OF EMPLOYMENT:  10 Month

REPORTS TO:  Career & Tech Building Principal

TYPICAL WORK ACTIVITIES:  Provide juniors and seniors with classroom instruction, project-based learning and hands-on skills that would prepare students to be college and career ready in the Welding industry.  Prepare students for NOCTI Welding National Assessment

  • Communicate with parents, teachers, home school counselors and others involved in the education of the student
  • Maintain discipline in the classroom and work sites
  • Monitor students’ academic progress including, but not limited to progress/marking period grades, attendance, hands-on performance skills
  • Implement 504 plans and IEPs for students with diverse learning needs
  • Keep current with changes and developments in the welding industries
  • Other responsibilities as determined by the CTE Principal

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: Teaching and work experience in heavy equipment operation, diesel technology maintenance and repair, landscape design and installation, and horticulture are preferred. Excellent interpersonal skills and work ethic.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Must have or be eligible for: NYS Heavy Equipment/Diesel 7-12 Certification
