As the first operational leader for a $25M nonprofit, you will build the organizational backbone from scratch. You'll scale the team from 7 to 25, build a new San Francisco headquarters, and launch a founder residency program. This is a high-autonomy building role for a scrappy operator who thrives in fast-growth, high-stakes environments.

What you will do:
Lead the end-to-end buildout of a new San Francisco headquarters, including site selection, lease negotiation, and office design to create a world-class workspace.
Operationalize a new founder residency hosting 20+ entrepreneurs, managing complex visa logistics, international travel, and housing for global talent cohorts.
Build and scale the entire people operations and recruiting engine to triple the team size to 25 within 12 months while maintaining high talent density.
The ideal candidate:
Proven experience scaling operations in a fast-growth startup, ideally moving from 10 to 50 employees as a Head of Ops or Chief of Staff.
Bias toward action and a "building" mindset, with a track record of creating systems from scratch rather than just maintaining existing playbooks.
High agency and sharp problem-solving skills, capable of navigating complex domains like international grant compliance, immigration law, and vendor management simultaneously.
