About the Role:

As a Gravel Truck Driver in the construction industry, you will play a critical role in ensuring the timely and safe delivery of gravel and other construction materials to various job sites across Canada. Your primary objective will be to operate heavy-duty trucks efficiently while adhering to all safety regulations and company policies. You will be responsible for loading, transporting, and unloading materials, maintaining accurate delivery records, and communicating effectively with site managers and dispatchers. This role demands a high level of reliability, attention to detail, and the ability to navigate diverse road and weather conditions. Ultimately, your work will directly contribute to the smooth progress and success of construction projects by providing essential materials on schedule.

Minimum Qualifications:

* Valid Canadian commercial driver’s license (Class 1 or equivalent) with a clean driving record.
* Proven experience operating heavy-duty trucks, preferably in the construction or materials transport sector.
* Knowledge of Canadian traffic laws and safety regulations related to commercial vehicle operation.
* Ability to perform physical tasks such as loading and unloading materials and conducting vehicle inspections.
* Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with team members and supervisors.

Preferred Qualifications:

* Experience driving gravel trucks or dump trucks specifically within the construction industry.
* Familiarity with GPS and route planning software to optimize delivery efficiency.
* Certification in workplace safety or defensive driving courses.
* Basic mechanical skills for troubleshooting minor vehicle issues.
* Ability to work flexible hours, including early mornings or weekends, as project demands require.

Responsibilities:

* Operate gravel trucks to transport materials from supply yards to construction sites safely and efficiently.
* Load and unload gravel and other construction materials using appropriate equipment and techniques.
* Inspect vehicles before and after trips to ensure mechanical safety and report any issues promptly.
* Maintain accurate delivery logs, including times, locations, and quantities of materials delivered.
* Communicate with dispatchers, site supervisors, and other team members to coordinate delivery schedules and address any challenges.
* Adhere strictly to all traffic laws, safety regulations, and company policies to ensure safe operation at all times.
* Perform routine maintenance checks and assist with minor repairs to keep trucks in optimal condition.
