    Salary:  Range $54,912.50 - $68,596.88 yearly, Salary placement on our classified salary schedule is dependent on the employee's education and/or work experience.?Non-licensed employees will be granted one (1) year for each full year of work experience and/or educational attainment up to a maximum of ten (10) years. Responsibility for verification of outside experience shall rest with the individual employee. Additional days may be added to the notice of assignment at the request of administration based on need with approval from the CFO/COO or Superintendent of Schools. Click here for more information.

    EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

     

    Required:

    • Associates Degree in Food Service Management, or related degree in the realm of dietetics, family and consumer sciences, or business.
    • Prior Supervisor Experience.
    • Equivalent combination of education and experience will be evaluated.
    • Be certified as a food protection manager or obtain ability within 4 months of hire.
    • Possess knowledge of nutrition and how it relates to creating a healthy school menu. 

     

    Preferred:

    • Post Graduate Certifications/Degree in food and nutrition, food service management, dietetics, or similarly related field.
    • Experience in school kitchen management and food preparation.
    • Experience and knowledge of CDE requirements and regulations for food service.
    • Familiar with state and local food preparation guidelines.
    • Budget and accounting experience.

     

    JOB DESCRIPTION

    Summary/Objective:

    This position is responsible for the safe preparation of meals in all schools in the district. Along with kitchen management and ensuring all county, state and federal guidelines are being met. This position is responsible for scheduling and creating safe routes for all bus riders to and from school along with scheduling and assigning activity trips. This position is in the Central Office for the district and aids in the day-to-day operations within the central office. 

     

    Essential Functions and Characteristics:

    • Provide leadership and supervise kitchen managers across the district.
    • Administers rules and regulations required of schools that participate in the National School Lunch Program (NSLP), National School Breakfast Program (NSBP), snack, Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACPF), and other state and federal feeding programs.
    • Work in collaboration with CFO/COO in the development of the food service program budget.
    • Directs the program to ensure fiscal responsibility by managing budgets for funds associated with the Child Nutrition Operation: make estimates for projecting budget needs, including the cost of food and non-food items, labor expenses, and new or replacement equipment; equipment repair; food and meal prices; and other expenditures and revenues generated by the department.
    • Provide innovative enhancements to the Nutrition Service program through marketing, promotions, student taste testing, menu development, nutrition education, and other innovative methods.
    • Responsible for all state and federal reporting.
    • Work with kitchen managers in development of menus for each building.
    • Ordering food, commodities, and supplies for all district kitchens.
    • Ensuring food safety guidelines are being followed.
    • Timesheet approval.
    • Work in conjunction with CFO/COO or designee in creation of bus routes.
    • Schedule and assign activity trips and drivers.

       

    Other Duties:

    • Assist with administrative duties in the central office.
    • Fill in when needed in kitchens.
    • All other duties as assigned.
