Job description
OVERVIEW
Under the direction of the Sales Manager the residential flooring estimator will build lasting customer relationships by providing excellent customer service and custom in-home estimates for flooring installations with the use of digital estimation software.
HOURS OF OPERATION: Monday-Friday
RESPONSIBILITIES
The following are the responsibilities for this position:
- Use internal database software to map out and call pre-scheduled clients the night before they are scheduled to narrow down predetermined time windows of arrival.
- Determine if job is within the scope of work for the type of flooring the client has selected
- Accurately measure all rooms with provided Windows tablet and laser tape measure entering the information into digital estimation software
- Accurately label existing flooring types and condition, subfloor composition and condition, baseboard type and condition, as well as furniture moving and appliance moving information
- Identify custom work that is outside of normal installation practices when necessary and work with the Director of Estimations on pricing structure for all custom work
- Politely and professionally engage with clients in their home to determine the scope of work and the outcome the client is wanting to achieve as well as any work the client will be completing themselves
- Maintains contact with customers throughout the day as needed if running behind schedule and contact our home office with updates to ensure a positive customer experience
- Interact with the Director of Estimations for assistance with installation methods and practices and staying up to date with new products and install methods in the flooring industry
- Develops and maintains thorough knowledge of digital estimation software as well as internal database software
- Mornings spent at our warehouse to receive carpet and pad using sit down forklift
QUALIFICATIONS
- Pass a criminal background check – Required
- Driver’s License – Required
- Must be 18 years of age - Required
- High School degree or equivalent with any of the following:
- 2 years of flooring installation experience
- 2 years of estimating experience
- 2 years of flooring sales experience
- Able to work proficiently with computers and software applications
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Good time management and ability to multitask
- Strong analytical and problem-solving ability
- Excellent written, verbal and oral communication skills
- A thorough understanding of the flooring and wall tile products, services and industry practices
Compensation: $23.00 - $28.00 per hour
