Responsible for Brinks Canada Vehicle Fleet maintenance, repair and collision damage repair program. Ensuring the Corporate Fleet Management and Field Operations teams are aligned with Brinks initiatives and strategies. Ensuring overall compliance with CCMTA, FMCSA, OHS, and CEPA requirements. 

Job Description 

  • Facilitates the execution of the enterprise fleet plan (budget) and ensures fleet policies and practices are applied uniformly across the company. 

  • Helps develop and maintain branch PM schedules.   Work closely with branch leaders to maintain PM schedule without impacting service to customers. 

  • Coach and develop Internal mechanics and others using career development processes and tools. 

  • Lead interactions with 3rd party route optimization company (Accenture) and assist branch leaders in reviewing fleet moves. 

  • Applies knowledge of mechanical fundamentals, maintenance, diagnosis, and repair to drive asset readiness and minimizes downtime.  

  • Applies financial knowledge to read and interpret financial statements, develop business cases using financial information (e.g. cost, revenue forecasts, etc.) to plan and effectively manage budgets. 

  • Manage and evaluate the performance of internal and third-party vehicle maintenance and accident repair vendors. 

  • Develop and manage maintenance standards and procedures and enforce compliance with policies and procedures. 

  • Monitors fleet utilization/ asset readiness and works with regional leadership to maintain compliance Lead fleet moves as we dynamically re-balance routing across Canada. 

  • Establishes key metrics to measure local fleet performance against standards.   Maintain branch matrix on Branch required fleet and added fleet for ability to swap out trucks for PM’s without impacting service. 

  • Aids in developing quality assurance procedures to improve fleet reliability and customer service. 

  • Investigates incidents and responds to requests, problems, crises, and critical situations. Identifies causes, documents findings, and determines responses/next steps. 

  • Ensures adequate and accurate records are kept and available to fleet staff and user groups. Makes recommendations on internal and external benchmarks, metrics, and best practices. 

  • Manages inspections of maintenance facilities and/or compliance documents to ensure safety, regulatory compliance, and appearance. 

  • Aids in control and authorization of expenditures per Brinks practices. 

  • Works with corporate and local fleet teams by monitoring operational and financial effectiveness, vehicle maintenance, and repair functions. 

  • Serves on the vehicle specification team to assess user group requirements and develop designs and specifications to effectively meet those business needs. 

  • Owns management and deployment of continuous improvements. 

  • Assures that vehicle-related equipment and activities comply with safety standards, laws, and regulations, with particular attention to compliance with DOT FMCSA, OSHA, and EPA requirements. 

  • Perform other duties as  

Requirements
  • Bachelors Degree in Business Administration or equivalent experience 

  • 5 years fleet management experience
