Event Services Operations Staff (Equipment Operator B)

As part of the Operations and Maintenance Division, you will play a key role in ensuring the safe, efficient, and seamless operation of the Farm Show Complex. This hands-on position supports all aspects of event setup, maintenance, and teardown, while also maintaining equipment, facility buildings, and grounds—including custodial tasks, general repairs, trash removal, and seasonal snow clearing. You will work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines, helping prepare the complex for a wide variety of events and ensuring the facility remains clean, functional, and event-ready at all times.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

• Full-time employment
• This position is considered essential. You will be required to report to working during emergencies and office closings.
• Work hours are 2:30 PM to 11:00 PM, Thursday - Monday, with a 30-minute lunch.
• Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position. 
• Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

• One year of experience as an Equipment Operator A; or
• Two years of experience in the operation of heavy construction and specialized maintenance equipment used at this level with a gross vehicle weight of 32,001 pounds or more; or
• Any equivalent combination of experience or training.

Special Requirements:

• Possession of a valid Class C Pennsylvania driver's license.

Conditions of Employment:

• This position requires possession of a valid Class B commercial driver's license (CDL) with Passenger and Airbrake Endorsements to be obtained by end of probationary period.

Additional Requirements:

• You must be able to perform essential job functions.

Preferred Qualifications (not required):

• Experience working with animals and livestock in large-scale public events
