Who we are looking for

The Assistant Vice President (AVP) – ETF Basket Operations is a senior operations leadership role responsible for the day‑to‑day oversight, control, and scalability of ETF basket production within State Street’s Sacramento delivery center. This role ensures the timely, accurate, and controlled creation and approval of ETF baskets supporting global primary market activity.

The AVP will lead teams supporting equity, fixed income, and complex ETFs, act as a senior escalation point, and partner closely with onshore leadership, Technology, Risk, and Client Coverage to deliver consistent, high‑quality outcomes.

What you will be responsible for

  • Operations Leadership
  • Lead daily ETF basket production, review, and approval activities within a high‑volume operating environment.
  • Serve as senior escalation point for complex basket issues, discrepancies, and time‑sensitive events.
  • Ensure SLA adherence, operational readiness, and business continuity coverage.
  • ETF Basket & Primary Market Oversight
  • Oversee processing of cash and in‑kind baskets, custom/negotiated baskets, CIL events, and rebalances.
  • Ensure accurate handling of corporate actions, income equalization, round lots, and market‑specific requirements.
  • Maintain strong understanding of ETF primary market mechanics and order types.

Risk & Controls

  • Ensure strong operational controls, dual approvals, and compliance with documented procedures.
  • Partner with Risk, Compliance, and Audit on control testing, issue remediation, and operational reviews.
  • Proactively identify risk themes and drive preventative solutions at scale.
  • People Management
  • Lead, coach, and develop managers and senior analysts in Sacramento.
  • Build strong bench strength, SMEs, and succession coverage.
  • Foster a strong risk culture, accountability, and continuous improvement mindset.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Proven people‑management experience in a delivery or shared‑services environment.
  • Strong risk, controls, and escalation management capabilities.
  • Clear, confident communicator across operational and senior‑stakeholder audiences.
  • Understanding of ETF basket construction and approval processes.
  • Experience supporting global ETF operating models or offshore/onshore delivery structures.
  • Exposure to complex ETF products (fixed income, derivatives, active/semi‑transparent ETFs).
  • Experience partnering with technology teams on workflow enhancements or automation.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or related discipline required.

Salary Range:

$90,000 - $157,500 Annual

The range quoted above applies to the role in the location specified. If the candidate would ultimately work outside of the location above, the applicable range could differ.
