Duties and Responsibilities:
Driver
- Ensures vehicles are fueled and ready for use.
- Arranges for vehicle repairs as needed.
- Maintains vehicle mileage and repair records.
- Inspects vehicles for mechanical and safety issues and performs preventative maintenance.
- Plans routes and meets delivery schedules.
- Transports donated goods to and from donors and the food pantry warehouse.
- Furnishes completed and signed donation pickup receipts for processing.
- Interacts with product donor representatives.
Warehouse Worker
- Responsible for loading and unloading delivery vehicles.
- Accepts and processes donated items.
- Inspects inventory for damage and performs inventory controls.
- Operates and maintains preventively warehouse vehicles and equipment.
- Maintains a clean and safe working environment.
- Optimizes space utilization and stores inventory in an accessible manner.
- Operates forklift and electronic pallet jack.
Risk Management and Quality Assurance:
- Performs PQI functions as assigned by the Supervisor.
- Participates in ongoing safety inspections.
- Participates in monthly fire drills.
- Timely and accurately submit Unusual Incident Reports and include all relevant documentation required by regulatory bodies.
- Must be available to work beyond your regular schedule in crises or if there is a declared agency emergency.
Additional Duties:
- Communicate any problem/concern of warehouse operations to the Program Director promptly.
- Performs other duties as assigned by the Supervisor.
- Complete all required training as per regulatory guidelines and other training as requested by the supervisor.
- Complies with all policies, procedures, and requirements necessary to perform the functions of this position.
Physical Demands:
- Regularly lift and carry 25–50+ pounds
- Perform frequent repetitive hand and wrist motions
- Bend, stoop, reach, squat, kneel, twist, push, and pull while picking and packing
- Stand, walk, and move on concrete floors for long periods of time.
- Navigate tight spaces and operate equipment safely
- Work in varied and sometimes extreme temperatures (freezers and hot warehouses)
Educational & Experiential Requirements:
- High School diploma or equivalent
- One year experience in warehousing functions
- A valid Driver’s license, Commercial Driver's License a plus
- Certified Forklift Operator preferred.
