Job Summary:
The Senior Transportation Driver will be responsible for providing administrative support to the Transportation Manager as well as completing the duties of the ground transportation driver and Dispatch Clerk.
Accountability: The Senior Transportation Driver is directly accountable to the Manager - Transportation.
Schedule: Call-in, early morning, late evening, weekdays, weekends and holidays.

Qualifications:
- Persons of First Nations ancestry will be given preference (OHRC, Part II, Special Employment).
- Ability to communicate in one of the First Nations dialects in the Sioux Lookout Zone is an asset.
- High school diploma completion or experience deemed acceptable by SLFNHA.
- Minimum of 6 months working in an administration role or other experience deemed acceptable by SLFNHA
- Ability to communicate in one of the First Nations dialects in the Sioux Lookout Zone is an asset.
- A valid and current driver’s abstract must be provided upon hire and deemed acceptable by SLFNHA.
- Must be available for possible rotational shifts of the position. Shifts include early morning, days,
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy, good computer and communication skills.
- Good interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate employees.
- Must have a valid full G-class Driving license through employment as a Senior - Transportation
- A valid and current driver’s abstract must be provided upon hire and deemed acceptable by SLFNHA.
- Proven experience scheduling multiple employees across varied shifts,
- The ability to perform the requirements of the position on a regular basis.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Assist the Manager – Transportation with supervising and managing employees assigned to the transportation department.
- Complete administrative duties such as filing, maintaining and completing data entry as required.
- Schedule routine maintenance of vehicles.
- Will provide coverage for the Transportation Manager in their absence.
- Will provide coverage for Drivers – Transportation when required.
- Assist with department schedules in Sioux Lookout and Thunder Bay.
- Responsible for managing the required internal documentation of transportation drivers, such as driver logs and circle checks.
- Creating and making internal documents available to drivers, such as time sheets, mileage forms,
- and transportation lists.
- Assist with training and department orientation of new team members.
- Invoicing of PHCU for services used.
- Write up and submit incident reports to the appropriate departments.
- Ensure all incident reports are recorded for each shift in the Serious Occurrence Incident Report (SOIR) system.
- Demonstrate proper regard for confidential / privacy issues.
- To be flexible in the job routine.
