POSITION SUMMARY
The Manager of Distribution Center Operations will oversee operations within our Weekend shift (Saturday, Sunday and Monday) of a regional distribution center, ensuring that all processes are running smoothly, efficiently, and safely. This role will involve managing, both directly and indirectly, team members and supervisors, coordinating workflow, and addressing any operational issues that arise during the shift.
CORE FUNCTIONS
o Lead, develop and motivate shift employees.
o Set goals and provide shift direction. Ensure department milestones/goals are met.
o Foster a positive and productive work environment.
o Oversee shift operations to ensure efficiency and accuracy.
o Coordinate with other shift managers to ensure seamless operations.
o Ensure all shipments are properly documented and comply with company policies and procedures.
o Manage resources and adhere to approved budgets.
o Has full authority over personnel actions.
o Implement and maintain quality assurance standards and procedures.
o Address and resolve escalated issues related to order fulfillment.
o Promote a culture of safety and ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations.
o Conduct regular safety audits and training sessions.
o Investigate safety incidents and report results to leadership. Implement short- and long-term countermeasures.
o Act as the main point of contact for shift-related issues and concerns.
o Communicate effectively with team members, management, and other departments.
o Prepare and present shift reports and performance data to management.
o Identify areas for improvement and implement process enhancements.
o Stay updated with industry trends and best practices.
o Lead or participate in special projects and initiatives aimed at improving distribution center operations.
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS
Education and Experience
·High school Diploma or GED required.
·Bachelor’s Degree in logistics, business, or related field preferred.
·6+ years of experience in operations or logistics required
·3+ years of experience at a leadership level with similar responsibilities preferred.

Skills, Abilities, and Knowledge
·Experienced in leading a team of direct and indirect reports.
·Ability to respond to customer or carrier requests in a timely and professional manner.
·Ability to adapt to changes while maintaining productivity measures.
Excellent organizational and time management skills.
·Skilled in Microsoft Office and ERP/WMS software.
·Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
·Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
Travel
·Minimal travel may be required.
