Reports to: Associate Vice President, Office of Strategic Partnerships
Salary: Up to $80,000

Reporting to the Associate Vice President of the Office of Strategic Partnerships, the Director of Strategic Operations and Revenue Development serves as a key operational and strategic leader within the Lifelong Learning division at the University of South Florida. This position is responsible for the daily operations, strategic growth, and community impact of two distinct and mission-driven units: the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI) and the USF Testing Center. The Director provides visionary and operational leadership that drives enrollment growth, program excellence, and measurable community impact while ensuring both units operate efficiently, sustainably, and in alignment with the university's broader strategic priorities. As a peer to the Lifelong learning Leader overseeing YXP and Microcredentials, this role contributes to a cohesive, forward-thinking Lifelong Learning leadership team committed to expanding USF's reach and relevance across the community.



Responsibilities
  • The Director of Strategic Operations and Revenue Development provides direct oversight of the daily operations of OLLI and the USF Testing Center, ensuring both units deliver high quality programming and services to their respective audiences. Working alongside assistant directors within each unit, this position provides coaching, direction, and accountability to build strong, high-performing teams.
  • The Director develops and executes strategic plans for both units that align with the division's goals of community impact, enrollment growth, and revenue sustainability. This includes identifying new program opportunities, cultivating partnerships with community organizations and educational institutions, and positioning both units as leaders in their respective markets across the Tampa Bay region and the state of Florida.
  • A critical responsibility of this role is the development, tracking, and reporting of key performance indicators that demonstrate the growth and community impact of both units. The Director establishes clear metrics; monitors progress against goals and communicates results to leadership in a manner that informs strategic decisions and demonstrates the value of lifelong learning at USF.
  • The Director is also responsible for contributing to revenue development efforts across both units, identifying opportunities to grow enrollment, expand programming, secure partnerships, and build financially sustainable operating models that reduce dependency on any single revenue stream.
  • As these are auxiliary funded units, the Director has full P&L responsibilities for both units and must have the ability to run them as a business by understanding all the financial aspects of managing an auxiliary ( Self supported) business unit at USF.
  • The Director will be responsible for two Associate Director Direct reports and manage 8-12 full-time and part-time associates providing both strategic operational guidance and leadership and will be responsible for coaching, developing and leading these groups with a focus on leadership, business acumen and process/ operational excellence. Internal and external customer service excellence will be paramount to the success of these units with ability to manage both internal USF and external USF stakeholders including USF alumni, potential donors and OLLI organization members. This director must have the ability to manage multiple stakeholders, develop and negotiate memorandums of understanding and or contracts that pertain to the business units the director overseas.


Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Requires a bachelor’s degree and 7 years of related exempt level experience and 5 years
    managerial experience.
  • Degree Equivalency Clause: Four years of direct experience for a bachelor’s degree.
    • Senate Bill 1310- The Florida Senate (https://www.flsenate.gov/Session/Bill/2023/1310) is conditional upon meeting all employment eligibility requirements in the U.S.
    • SB 1310: Substitution of Work Experience for Postsecondary Education Requirements
    • A public employer may include a postsecondary degree as a baseline requirement only as an alternative to the number of years of direct experience required, not to exceed:
    • (a) Two years of direct experience for an associate degree;
    • (b) Four years of direct experience for a bachelor’s degree;
    • (c) Six years of direct experience for a master’s degree;
    • (d) Seven years of direct experience for a professional degree; or
    • (e) Nine years of direct experience for a doctoral degree
    • Related work experience may not substitute for any required licensure, certification, or registration required for the position of employment as established by the public employer and indicated in the advertised description of the position of employment.
    • Minimum Qualifications that require a high school diploma are exempt from SB 1310.
