Ohio State University Physicians is seeking a strategic, relationship‑driven Director of Clinical Operations to lead and elevate the clinical and operational performance of our Dermatology outpatient practices. About the Role

Reporting to the Senior Director of Clinic Operations, the Director oversees integrated Dermatology clinic operations across multiple sites. This leader will identify and implement workflow improvements, ensure regulatory and safety compliance, manage operational systems, develop clinical teams, and guide strategic initiatives that support both immediate needs and long‑term departmental goals.

You will engage closely with physicians, clinical managers, and operational partners to deliver consistent, high‑quality patient care and an outstanding clinic experience.

 

 

Responsibilities

 

 
  • Lead strategic operational planning to support Dermatology’s growth and long‑term goals.
  • Evaluate clinical workflows and identify opportunities to enhance efficiency, quality, and patient experience.
  • Oversee onboarding, training, and professional development for clinical managers and staff.
  • Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to support day‑to‑day operations and long‑term improvements.
  • Develop and administer clinical policies, procedures, and protocols in collaboration with departmental leadership.
  • Conduct benchmarking and performance reviews to support continuous improvement.
  • Manage business planning, budgeting, space allocation, and productivity initiatives to optimize patient access and provider utilization.
  • Monitor operational and financial performance and prepare recommendations for senior leadership.
  • Ensure compliance with federal and state regulations, including OSHA, HIPAA, CLIA, DEA, and JCAHO standards.
  • Partner closely with Ambulatory Risk & Safety and system colleagues in IT, HR, compliance, laboratory, safety, and quality.
  • Oversee supply chain needs and vendor relationships.
  • Travel to satellite clinic locations as necessary to support operations.

 

Qualifications

 

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum 4 years of ambulatory operations management experience.
  • Current BLS certification.
  • Demonstrated experience establishing best‑practice workflows, policies, and procedures in an ambulatory setting.
  • Strong communication, relationship‑building, and facilitation skills.
  • Highly organized and detail‑oriented with the ability to drive process improvement.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel.
  • Ability to travel across OSUP locations.

Pay Range

USD $108,954.09 - USD $181,590.13 /Yr.
