Job Summary:

The Director of Car Wash Operations is focused on leading all aspects of the growing car wash business, while ensuring adherence to all company standards, policies, and procedures. This role will not only drive operational excellence but also cultivate a high-performance culture that prioritizes employee development, safety, and customer satisfaction. Responsibilities include, managing site-level profits and losses, coordinating monthly membership plan management, weekly sales reporting and review, leading new site launches, assessing new acquisitions/partnerships, managing all vendor relationships, overseeing site managers, developing on-going training and safety initiatives, and coordinating with facilities on all service issues, among other duties as assigned. 


Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  •  Partner with leadership to define long-term growth strategy for car wash operations.
  • With leadership, grow >$10M car wash business across New Hampshire, Massachusetts and Maine
  • With the Car Wash District Manager (reports to this role) provide leadership to a high-quality car wash team) through hiring, training, and retention  
  • Drive innovation for the customer experience. 
  • Collaborate with site managers to ensure all car wash personnel have the requisite training, skills, and resources necessary to excel.
  • Create a culture of accountability across the organization through an unwavering commitment to enforcing company standards, policies, and procedures.
  • Partner with HR and leadership to implement talent development programs and succession planning for site managers.
  • Drive performance through monitoring key performance indicators and taking corrective action when needed.
  • Own full P&L responsibility for each location
  • Lead the car wash safety program including compliance with all OSHA requirements, internal policies, and industry best practices.
  • Develop and monitor equipment maintenance programs for each location, provide the management tools for proper execution, and follow-up to ensure completion.
  • Evaluate current sites for needed upgrades and remodels.
  • Source replacement parts and new equipment.
  • Primary contact with car wash supply, software, and equipment vendors.


Requirements

Required Skills, Education, and Experience:

  • Strong leadership, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
  • 10+ years of management experience, creating high performing teams.
  • Preferred 5 years of CAR WASH INDUSTRY, 10+ years ideally.
  • Preferred experience managing multi-site car wash operations, ideally for industry-leading brands.
  • Success launching new car wash or retail locations.
  • Proven ability to lead through change and inspire teams during periods of growth and transformation.
  • Prior P&L responsibility with clear understanding of financial drivers and metrics.
  • Very high attention to detail aimed at a strong focus on operational excellence.
  • High personal standards in accordance with company standards.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Basic mechanical skills.
  • Ability to travel to sites regularly.

Work Environment:

  • This position is primarily field-based and requires frequent travel across multiple sites in New Hampshire, Massachusetts, and Maine.
  • The role involves working both indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions, including exposure to heat, cold, rain, and snow.
  • Regular visits to operational car wash sites will include exposure to water, cleaning chemicals, and mechanical equipment.
  • The environment may be noisy and fast-paced, requiring adherence to all safety protocols.

Physical Demands:

  • Ability to stand, walk, and move around car wash facilities for extended periods.
  • Frequent bending, stooping, and reaching to inspect equipment or assist with operational needs.
  • Occasional lifting or moving of items up to 50 pounds (e.g., parts, supplies).
  • Must be able to drive between locations regularly and maintain a valid driver’s license.
  • Visual and auditory acuity required to monitor equipment, ensure safety compliance, and communicate effectively.
