Job Description

The DC Operations Manager is responsible for achieving Distribution Center objectives, including health and safety, customer service, gross margins, expense control, FTE management, and employee engagement. This role oversees budget development, performance monitoring, and reporting while driving operational efficiency and effectiveness. In partnership with the Operational Excellence team, the DC Operations Manager fosters a culture of continuous improvement through coaching, mentoring, and adherence to UAP Daily Management and operational standards to ensure safe, profitable, and customer-focused operations.

This is a multi-site leadership role with responsibility for overseeing operations at our Cambridge and Scarborough Distribution Centers.

Your responsibilities: 

  • Lead the Distribution Center leadership team to achieve health and safety, customer service, financial, and employee engagement objectives.
  • Drive operational efficiency by partnering with Warehouse Managers, Operations, Transportation, and Operational Excellence teams to implement strategies and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Coach and develop leadership teams while ensuring compliance with UAP policies, Daily Management, and operational standards.
  • Collaborate with the General Manager and regional leadership to set priorities, review performance, and develop action plans and business cases for investments.
  • Oversee returns management, carrier negotiations, and the negotiation and administration of collective agreements, including CRT and CSST committees.
  • Serve as an active member of the regional management committee and conduct regular leadership meetings to ensure alignment and accountability.

Qualifications

To join our team, you need: 

  • Minimum 5 years of experience managing Distribution Center operations.
  • Demonstrated success in managing gross profit, budgeting, and interpreting financial statements within a large-scale operation.
  • Proven ability to plan and implement operational improvement and transformation initiatives, with knowledge of continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Passion for coaching and developing others, with strong leadership capabilities.
  • Experience in the automotive aftermarket is an asset.
  • Strong computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office and Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).
