Jayman BUILT, one of Alberta’s most respected and innovative homebuilders, is looking for a Manager, Corporate Purchasing to join our team in Calgary.

This role is responsible for managing purchasing activities, supplier and trade partner relationships, pricing, contracts, and cost control across key areas of the business. The Manager, Corporate Purchasing will work closely with Construction, Estimating, Design, Finance, and Operations to ensure we are securing the right products, services, pricing, and partnerships to support Jayman’s continued growth and commitment to quality.

Key Responsibilities

  • Purchasing & Cost Management — Manage purchasing activities, pricing reviews, supplier agreements, and cost-saving opportunities while supporting quality, schedule, and business needs.
  • Supplier & Trade Partner Relationships — Build, maintain, and strengthen relationships with suppliers, vendors, and trade partners, to ensure reliability, competitive pricing, service levels, and long-term value.
  • Specifications Development — Work with the Jayman BUILT Executive and Senior Management team to develop, improve, and produce annual Construction Specifications for the various Divisions. Maintain all Specifications, revisions, and communicate updates to applicable team members. 
  • Contract & Pricing Support — Support contract negotiations, pricing agreements, scopes of work, purchase orders, and vendor compliance across purchasing categories. Maintain Corporate Contracts and programs.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration — Work closely with Construction, Estimating, Design, Finance, Sales, and Operations to support accurate costing, product selections, project timelines, and business priorities.
  • Process Improvement — Identify opportunities to improve purchasing processes, reporting, systems, documentation, and communication between departments.
  • Data & Reporting — Use purchasing data, costing information, commodity reports, and market trends to support decision-making, budget accuracy, and cost control.
  • Problem Solving & Issue Resolution — Support the resolution of supplier, trade, pricing, supply chain, product availability, and service-related issues in a timely and professional manner.
  • Energy Efficiency and Building Science — Act as the lead subject expert for the company in all energy efficiency and sustainability initiatives. Support Jayman’s long term participation with Built Green Canada, CHBA Net Zero, Technical Committees and other programs to maintain and grow Jayman BUILT’s leadership in environmental excellence.
  • Team Support & Leadership — Provide guidance and support to the purchasing team, helping create a culture of accountability, collaboration, accuracy, and continuous improvement.
  • Team Training — Provide frequent training and support for the Sales, Construction, and Customer Service teams on Jayman BUILT Specifications, Energy Efficiency, and initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Formal education in Estimating and Purchasing such as a 2 Year Diploma from a recognized Technical Institute or equivalent education.
  • Supply Chain Management Professional (SCMP) Designation or Project Management Professional (PMP) Certificate, or equivalents are considered assets.
  • 5+ years of progressive experience in purchasing, procurement, supply chain, estimating, or construction-related purchasing
  • Experience in residential construction, homebuilding, multi-family, manufacturing, or a related industry is considered an asset
  • Strong negotiation, vendor management, and relationship-building skills
  • Ability to understand construction drawings, scopes of work, specifications, pricing, and trade/supplier agreements
  • Strong financial, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Experience working with ERP, purchasing, estimating, or construction management systems
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work well across multiple departments
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • A practical, hands-on leadership style with a focus on solutions, follow-through, and continuous improvement
