Are you thinking about advancing your career with one of the most successful logistics organizations worldwide? Here at Kuehne+Nagel, our Montréal-Nord, QC Canada Site is looking for a new Local Quality Manager to join our Contract Logistics team.
How you create impact
The Local Quality Manager is responsible for establishing, maintaining, and continuously improving quality standards within a high-volume sort center operated under a 4PL model. This role ensures that operational processes meet internal quality standards, customer expectations, and contractual SLAs.
The role acts as the key liaison between internal stakeholders and the 4PL provider to ensure consistent execution, root cause resolution, and continuous improvement across all sortation activities.
Quality Management & Governance
- Develop and implement site-level quality management systems aligned with company and customer standards.
- Ensure adherence to SOPs, work instructions, and service level agreements (SLAs).
- Establish governance routines with the 4PL provider to monitor quality performance.
Operational Quality Oversight
- Monitor sortation accuracy, damage rates, mis-sorts, and throughput quality.
- Conduct regular process audits across inbound, sortation, and outbound operations.
- Ensure proper handling, scanning, labeling, and routing of shipments.
Performance Monitoring & KPIs
- Define, track, and report key quality KPIs, including:
- Sort accuracy
- Damages and claims
- Missed scans / exceptions
- On-time processing adherence
- Analyze trends and provide actionable insights to operations leadership.
Root Cause Analysis & Continuous Improvement
- Lead structured problem-solving initiatives (e.g., RCA, Lean, Six Sigma methodologies).
- Identify systemic issues and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPAs).
- Partner with operations and the 4PL provider to drive continuous improvement initiatives.
4PL Vendor Management
- Ensure the 4PL provider complies with agreed quality standards and contractual KPIs.
- Participate in regular performance reviews with the 4PL provider.
- Escalate and resolve recurring quality issues tied to outsourced operations.
Training & Quality Awareness
- Develop and deliver quality-related training programs for site employees and 4PL personnel.
- Promote a culture of quality ownership at all operational levels.
- Ensure proper onboarding and certification for key roles impacting quality.
Compliance & Audit
- Maintain readiness for internal, external, and customer audits.
- Ensure compliance with company quality policies and regulatory requirements.
- Document and track audit findings and corrective actions.
Customer & Stakeholder Engagement
- Act as the point of contact for quality-related customer concerns or escalations.
- Provide reporting and insights to customers where required.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Operations, HR, Engineering, IT) to resolve quality issues.
Documentation & Process Control
- Maintain up-to-date SOPs, work instructions, and control plans.
- Ensure standardization across shifts and operational teams.
- Implement visual management tools to reinforce quality standards.

What we would like you to bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Engineering, or related field
- 5+ years of experience in quality management within logistics, warehousing, or manufacturing
- 5+ years of experience in high-volume, fast-paced operational environments (parcel, e-commerce, sortation preferred)
- 3+ years of prior experience working with 3PL/4PL providers or outsourced operations strongly preferred
- Knowledge of quality methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma, ISO standards)
- Proficiency in French and English (English-speaking clients)
