About the Position
The Construction Logistics Specialist II (Communications Specialist) plays a critical role in supporting communication, coordination, and engagement activities across large-scale construction and infrastructure projects. This position works closely with Project Managers, Construction Managers, contractors, and communications leadership to ensure timely, accurate, and accessible information is shared throughout all phases of project delivery—planning, design, preconstruction, and construction.
This is a hands-on, collaborative role focused on executing established communication plans, coordinating construction logistics information, and supporting stakeholder outreach efforts. The ideal candidate brings a strong blend of construction awareness, communications expertise, and organizational discipline, with the ability to translate complex technical information into clear messaging for diverse audiences.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and distribute project communication materials, including FAQs, fact sheets, presentations, construction notices, advisories, exhibits, and briefings, in alignment with approved messaging and branding standards.
- Support internal communications by coordinating timely information sharing across project teams, partners, and internal stakeholders through approved channels.
- Attend project and coordination meetings to gather updates and translate technical or construction-related information into clear, audience-appropriate messaging.
- Coordinate project logistics information including schedules, deliveries, phasing, and scope execution to support communication distribution across programs and stakeholders.
- Verify project components such as permits, notices, permissions, and compliance with project requirements.
- Ensure contractors are delivering required documentation (phasing plans, site logistics plans, construction notices, and related materials) in accordance with contract documents.
- Track, monitor, and report on public inquiries, complaints, and issues; escalate sensitive or time-critical matters as appropriate.
- Support stakeholder and community engagement initiatives and maintain organized records of outreach activities.
- Provide regular logistics and construction updates to communications leadership for publication and external outreach.
- Collaborate with Project Managers, Construction Managers, and Contractors to align logistics across multiple projects and programs, coordinating with Operations, Public Safety, and Guest Experience teams.
- Monitor construction activities across projects to identify operational constraints, mitigate bottlenecks, and elevate issues to project teams and executive leadership.
- Coordinate reporting and information sharing with global Construction Logistics Management and delivery support teams.
- Prepare reports and briefings for executive leadership and senior development teams.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Planning, Journalism, Marketing, or a related field.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in public or stakeholder communications, preferably supporting large-scale construction, infrastructure, transportation, or civic projects.
- Strong understanding of construction project lifecycles, phasing, and public communication requirements.
- Exceptional written, visual, and verbal communication skills with the ability to simplify complex technical content.
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Experience engaging with diverse communities, government agencies, contractors, and media representatives.
- Advanced proficiency with Canva, Adobe Illustrator, and InDesign.
- Experience using email marketing platforms (e.g., Benchmark) for public advisories and notifications.
- Relevant professional licensure or certifications in communications or public relations preferred.
