Coding Operations Analyst 

Schedule: Days: Monday-Friday. 40hrs a week. Business hours in your time zone.

How you’ll contribute 

The Analyst, Coding Operations position assists the Coding Management Team in the day-to-day management of coding operations. 

Coding Operations Analyst who excels in this role:

  • Assists in obtaining facility access for the coding team including Lifepoint and vendor coders. 

  • Runs DNFC, productivity, and other monitoring reports and analyzes data as requested by coding management.  

  • Assists in monitoring facility staffing needs.  

  • Responds to requests from hospital departments, physicians, patients, families, etc. that ensures customer service excellence. 

  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present ideas and concepts effectively across organizational levels as will be working with physicians, Chief Financial Officers, and hospital department management. 

  • Leads by example; promotes teamwork by fostering a positive, transparent, and focused working environment which achieves maximum results. 

  • Other duties as needed and assigned by Coding leadership, including but not limited to leading and conducting special projects. Develops project work plans, facilitates resource allocation, executes project tasks and obtains assistance from other intra and inter-departmental resources, as required.

What we’re looking for 

  • Education:  A high school diploma or equivalent, and preferably with a bachelor’s degree in health care administration, health information management, or a related field.

  • Experience: Minimum 2 years coding experience. Strong Microsoft Excel skills preferred (shared workbook collaboration, version history, and efficient use of key shortcuts. Skilled in XLOOKUP, pivot tables, text to columns, sorting, filtering, and conditional formatting to organize and analyze data)

  • Certifications:  Preferred - Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) or American Academy of Professional Coders (AAPC).
