Job Description:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Chief of Staff & Supervisor of Legal Operations to serve as a direct report to the Parsons Chief Legal Officer supporting the effective operations of the entire Office of General Counsel (OGC). The ideal candidate will bring a strategic focus to the efficient and effective operations of OGC.  This role requires strong analytical skills, excellent communication abilities, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.

This position is located in Chantilly, VA.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Provide support to the strategic OGC priorities and goals, ensuring projects and initiatives remain on track, on time and on budget by executing the following:

  • Board of Directors and Corporate Governance

    • Supporting overall Board operations, governance and compliance

    • Corporate governance and entity management

  • Outside Counsel and Matter Management

    • Supporting the management of outside counsel and ongoing litigation requirements

    • Maintaining matter tracker for litigation matters, subpoenas, litigation holds, and discovery

    • Tracking outside counsel usage, retention letters, billing rates

  • Financial Reporting

    • Building and managing the OGC budget with financial partners, metrics and overall cost control mechanisms

    • Monitoring cost accruals and building a monthly, quarterly and yearly budget and forecasting process

    • Ensuring compliance with negotiated rates and discounts from outside counsel

  • Strategic Operations and Projects

    • Manage document repositories

    • Leadership Off-site meetings and content

    • Administrative management: onboarding/offboarding, OGC communications, subscriptions and memberships, etc.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in relevant field of study and 5+ years of relevant professional experience required, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Minimum 5 years of litigation support experience, with prior in-house experience on a litigation team (law firm or government experience alone will not be considered).

  • Strong writing, verbal, analytical, and research skills.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

  • High level of attention to detail and organizational skills.

  • Experience in client-facing roles and handling sensitive matters professionally.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 7 or more years of litigation support experience.

  • Paralegal certificate from a recognized training program.

  • Experience with legal case management systems.

  • Familiarity with federal and state court procedures.

  • Have or the ability to secure a TS/SCI clearance

Salary Range: $41.68 - $72.93
