The Catering Operations Supervisor is responsible for supervising daily catering operations, including production coordination, event logistics, staffing, dispatch, deliveries, equipment management, and event execution. This position ensures all catering orders and events are completed accurately, safely, and on schedule.
The ideal candidate is highly organized, hands-on, and capable of leading teams in both commissary and event environments.
Key Responsibilities
Operations & Logistics
- Coordinate daily catering orders and event schedules.
- Supervise packing, loading, and dispatch activities.
- Ensure all equipment, rentals, and supplies are prepared for events.
- Monitor delivery schedules and event timelines.
- Troubleshoot operational issues and last-minute changes.
Staff Supervision
- Supervise catering associates, drivers, event staff, and kitchen support personnel.
- Conduct daily team briefings.
- Assist with staff scheduling and labor planning.
- Train and mentor new employees.
- Monitor productivity and service standards.
Event Execution
- Oversee event setup, service, and teardown.
- Ensure client expectations are met.
- Conduct quality control checks before departure.
- Support large corporate, wedding, and BBQ events throughout the GTA.
Inventory & Equipment
- Monitor catering equipment inventory.
- Coordinate equipment maintenance and repairs.
- Ensure warehouse and storage areas remain organized.
- Assist with ordering operational supplies.
Health & Safety
- Enforce food safety and workplace safety procedures.
- Ensure compliance with company SOPs.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
Qualifications
- 2–5 years of catering, hospitality, event, or food service experience.
- Previous supervisory or team lead experience preferred.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Valid Ontario G Driver's License preferred.
- Food Handler Certification considered an asset.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work both indoors and outdoors.
Pay: $28–$30 per hour
Schedule: Full-Time | Flexible Hours | Weekdays, Evenings & Occasional Weekends
