Some of what you will do:
As a Co-op at Staples, you will be a fully integrated member of the team. This will allow you to participate in department and company events/meetings, get the opportunity to experience Staples as a full-time associate, and make an impact with the company through independent projects. For this co-op, you will Support the day-to-day inventory management for a specific product category, focusing on the ‘four P’s’ of Merchandising:
Product Assortment
Product Pricing
Product Placement
Product Promotion
Specifically, you will:
· Review and proof marketing materials for accuracy
· Participate in monthly Merchandise Department meetings
· Interaction with vendors, community and store associates across Canada.
· Assist with any special projects, supporting B2B or B2C business units.
· Identify opportunities to improve the merchandising experience leveraging all available insights.
· Leverage various analytics tools and provide insightful recommendations / process improvements, supporting our customer needs and business objectives.
· Receive constant support and performance feedback.
· Other duties as assigned.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS / WORKING CONDITIONS:
Hybrid (4 days per week in-office, 1 day remote)
·Work Term Duration: 4 months (May to August 2026)
Some of what you need:
· Strong oral/written communication and interpersonal skills
· High attention to detail
· Ability to handle multiple projects and tasks
· Strong analytical and quantitative skills
· Strong computer skills (i.e. MS Excel) and an ability to learn new software quickly is critical
· Experience in customer service and/or a retail store environment (or comparable experience)
· Enrollment in a post-secondary education program (i.e. Business or Supply Chain would be an asset).
