JOB SUMMARY:

The primary responsibility of this position performs activities encompassed with planning and procuring goods and services that meet the JAC quality specifications and the delivery requirements for specific classifications of products and services within the organization.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:

  • Monitors, analyzes, creates and communicates purchase orders from Oracle, purchase requisitions or by manual entry.
  • Ensures all purchase orders have the correct account code, receiving organization, ship to address, appropriate approvals and attachments. Troubleshoots discrepancies with Accounting. Conducts system & process training with stakeholders as necessary.
  • Monitors supplier performance by ensuring that product is delivered as scheduled and meets specifications. Proactively works with suppliers to correct any performance deficiencies.
  • Negotiates best total cost of ownership pricing, terms and delivery.
  • Assists internal stakeholders to identify alternative sourcing options when risk or disruption to supply occurs.

WHAT IS REQUIRED:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • 3 years of experience in purchasing or related field.
  • Previous experience with international transactions and customs handling.
  • Familiar with the preparation of RFQ documents.
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office Excel, Word and Outlook.
  • Knowledge of basic accounting principles linked to the purchasing function.
  • Clear understanding of supply & demand and able to execute forecasting skills.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and high attention to detail.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to apply basic logic and understanding to carry out written or verbal instructions.
  • Ability to read and comprehend correspondence and memos.
  • Ability to perform mathematical calculations and unit conversions, including but not limited to discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, measurements and related formulas.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Associate’s Degree in related field.
  • Experience in Oracle or other ERP system.
  • Experience participating in continuous improvement processes and problem-solving activities.
