What You'll Do

With a retirement on the horizon, comes the opportunity to join our team in Horn Lake, MS!

This position is responsible for planning and procurement of raw materials to support manufacturing operations in Horn Lake, MS.  This role balances supply chain efficiency with cost, quality and delivery objectives. The role collaborates closely with suppliers, production and inventory control teams to optimize material flow, minimize shortages and control inventory investment.

This role is an onsite role Monday-Friday with a start time between 6AM-7AM to align to our production schedule and cross functional partners.


 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. 

  • Manage and optimize total inventory of product components to maintain product availability while minimizing inventory carrying costs.
  • Develop and maintain Material Requirements Planning (MRP) based on production schedules, forecasts and inventory targets.
  • Review and adjust planning activities in response to changes in forecasts, production priorities, engineering revisions, or supply chain disruptions.
  • Issue and manage purchase orders. Distribute daily and weekly reports to suppliers ensuring supplier compliance with delivery schedules.  
  • Communicate material status with production operations to ensure a steady flow of inventory to support production schedules. 
  • Build and maintain strong supplier relationships; monitor and evaluate supplier performance to ensure accountability and continuous improvement.
  • Analyze supplier data to identify trends, performance gaps, and cost reduction opportunities.
  • Collaborate with Engineering and Quality teams to resolve supplier or material related issues. 
  • Support cost saving initiatives through negotiations, process improvements, and sourcing alternatives as directed.  
  • Update and maintain accurate system data in JD Edwards including lead times, safety stock levels, and purchase order information. 
     
     

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE   

  • Associate’s degree in supply chain, business, or related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.  
  • Minimum of three years of experience in procurement or material planning within a manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency in MRP / ERP purchasing systems required.  JD Edwards 9.2 experience strongly preferred.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.  
  • APICs certification a plus.
