Ensuring Continuity of Supply

  • Review and analyze MRP demands to ensure raw materials and packaging are available to support production schedules
  • Issue, manage, and expedite purchase orders in alignment with MRP requirements
  • Monitor open POs, late deliveries, and upcoming shortages daily, escalating risks with urgency
  • Proactively identify and mitigate risks related to supply disruptions, shelf life, expired or on-hold materials
  • Collaborate closely with other Buyers to resolve supply issues quickly and minimize operational impact 

Data-Driven Decision Support

  • Analyze purchasing and inventory data (e.g., MRP reports, procurement trackers, Power BI dashboards) to identify trends, gaps, and risks
  • Provide recommendations to Schedulers on order quantities, timing, and potential material constraints
  • Communicate supplier lead times, delays, and delivery changes that may impact planned production

Systems, Documentation & Compliance 

  • Maintain accurate purchasing records, including purchase orders, shipping documentation, and import/export forms
  • Ensure ERP (IFS) data accuracy, including part numbers, pricing, supplier information, and delivery dates
  • Support ERP system efficiency through system upgrades, master data maintenance, and continuous improvement initiatives

 Cost & Inventory Management

  • Collaborate with the Procurement Specialist to support demand forecasting ahead of contract negotiations and renewals
  • Resolve pricing discrepancies and ensure invoices are reviewed and approved accurately and on time
  • Monitor ingredient shelf life to reduce waste and prevent write-offs
  • Reconcile inventory levels and maintain minimum stock requirements at co-manufacturing facilities
  • Process non-conformance claims and secure supplier credits for defective or non-compliant materials

Education & Experience

  • Post-secondary education in Purchasing, Supply Chain Management, or a related field
    (Equivalent education and experience will be considered)
  • Experience in a purchasing or supply chain role strongly preferred
  • Food manufacturing experience is an asset but not required

  • Confident, clear communicator with internal teams and external suppliers

  • Continuous improvement mindset focused on efficiency and cost control
  • Advanced Excel skills required; Power BI and ERP (IFS) experience are strong assets

  • The base salary will be between $63,000 - $77,000 
  • We are a hybrid office environment with Mondays/Tuesdays/Thursdays in office
