Job Title: MRO Buyer
Job Summary:
This position performs tactical day-to-day operations and acts in a transactional capacity and is responsible for maintaining inventory of supplies and materials, placing purchase orders, conferring with other departments to verify orders, and aiding with various purchasing procedures, inventories, and accounts.
Responsibility:
Unload incoming shipments, perform receiving functions and inspection as needed. Observe and practice recognized quality-control techniques and procedures on all shipments.
Verify shipments against corresponding paperwork and ensure information accuracy by matching purchase order to product and quantity received. Enter information into computer systems and label all products received with appropriate information. Record and communicate discrepancies to the Supplier/or Planning departments.
Review purchase requirements and place orders with approved suppliers. Follow purchasing policies and business ethics standards.
Ensure quality parts are delivered in a timely manner and act as a liaison between departments and suppliers for questions or resolving discrepancies.
Establish and maintain tooling and maintenance inventory control. • Remain informed of new supply sources for assigned products/services to recommend buying strategies.
Place orders to resolve actual or potential shortages and replenish current supplies using cost reduction/avoidance procedures. Provide feedback to suppliers for prints, correct deviations from specifications from Engineering.
Observe and practice all safety regulations, maintains acceptable dependability level, and must not pose a risk to self or others.
Maintain / Organize Cribs and replenish stock using Plex • Gather dull/used tooling on a weekly basis, prepare for supplier pick up.
Manage maintenance and machine parts for repair. • Prepare shippers for outgoing tooling, machine parts, motors for repair.
Monthly reporting of CPU for production lines, tooling cost, MRO and Spot buys.
Manages daily cycle count activities for both Tool Crib and maintenance storeroom.
Other duties as assigned.
Academic/Educational Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in business or supply chain management preferred but not .
Required Skills/Experiences:
Experience in manufacturing is highly desirable.
Strong organizational skills, electronic and paper.
Strong interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations. Position continually requires demonstrated poise, tact and diplomacy. Customer focus – need to build and maintain relationships with internal and external customers.
Practical knowledge of state-of-the-art inspection and quality engineering techniques, procedures, equipment, theories and principles.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
Ability to communicate to all levels of internal / supplier / customer organization
