Position Purpose:

Researches and acquires a variety of materials, equipment and services according to the organization’s guidelines for cost, quality and delivery. |

Education: High school diploma or equivalent. Certification/Licensure: None. Skills/Knowledge: Effective interpersonal and customer relation skills; experience working with computers and software systems, including Microsoft Office and purchasing systems, compiling statistics and researching and providing information in spreadsheet format. Knowledge of purchasing policies and procedures. |

Education: Bachelor’s degree in a related field. Experience: At least one year previous experience as a buyer, preferably in a hospital setting. |

Must be able to sit for a majority of the work day at a computer terminal and have the ability to use a computer keyboard and telephone. Ability to handle a high volume of customer contacts each day with the ability to clearly communicate. Ability to occasionally lift up to 50 pounds and periods of prolonged standing or walking. |
