JOB SUMMARY

The Experienced Buyer is responsible for purchasing inventory materials to support customer demand and business operations across Echelon locations. This role manages supplier relationships, analyzes inventory requirements, negotiates pricing and lead times, and ensures timely material availability. The Experienced Buyer works closely with sales, operations, and finance teams to maintain inventory levels, support customer fulfillment, and drive purchasing efficiency.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

* Review and analyze purchasing requirements in P21 to create and manage purchase orders and inventory transfers.
* Negotiate pricing, terms, and lead times to achieve cost savings and improve supplier performance.
* Maintain accurate supplier pricing and lead-time information within company systems.
* Build and manage strong supplier relationships while supporting strategic sourcing initiatives.
* Analyze sales trends, inventory levels, and forecasts to optimize order quantities and replenishment strategies.
* Expedite purchase orders as needed to meet customer and operational requirements.
* Partner with sales, operations, finance, and other departments to resolve supply chain issues and ensure continuity of supply.
* Monitor inventory performance and recommend improvements to purchasing processes and inventory management practices.

QUALIFICATIONS

* Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, or a related field preferred.
* 8+ years of purchasing, procurement, or supply chain experience, preferably in industrial distribution or manufacturing.
* Experience using MRP/ERP systems; P21 experience strongly preferred.
* Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
* Understanding of inventory management and warehouse operations.
* Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
* Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
