General Information/Job Summary

Take an active role in procurement of commodity materials for Saulsbury projects by identifying potential suppliers, preparing inquiries, soliciting and evaluating bids, addressing exceptions to bids, and issuing purchasing orders.

Responsibilities/Competencies

• Contribute to the efforts of Expeditors and Project Managers to ensure that material is delivered on schedule according to the construction field need dates
• Contribute to the formation, negotiation and execution of agreements and partnerships for materials with supply chain vendors as directed
• Identify and evaluate potential suppliers and establish them within the system once approved
• Interface with technical support personnel on material and equipment specifications
• Provide data and support for the implementation and monitoring of key performance indicators to measure the performance of the procurement department
• Monitor trends in supplier and market movements, information the departmental management of events that could affect supply, price and delivery
• Build and develop relationships with key suppliers and vendors

Requirements           

• 1+ years purchasing/ Office Admin experience with all types of commodities and equipment for the oil and gas, refining, and/or petrochemical industries
• Local candidates preferred, no relocation offered
• Construction related experience highly preferred
• Experience with “best practices” in purchasing
• Good verbal and written communication skills
• Good interpersonal relations skills
• Professional, ethical, team player willing to grow with Company
• Ability to manage several tasks simultaneously and work in an environment or changing priorities
• Skilled in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Adobe Acrobat
