About the role
We are seeking an experienced and strategic full-time Buyer to join our Operations team. (Note that the title may change based on qualifications and experience of the successful candidate).
Reporting to the Supply Chain Director, the Buyer will be responsible for managing the procurement process for various materials and services essential to our operations, ensuring that we maintain quality, cost-effectiveness, and sustainability in our supply chain.
The candidate must exhibit a customer-first attitude with excellent communication skills and demonstrated ability to set priorities and work in a fast-paced setting.
What you’ll be doing
- Procurement of materials for assigned products/commodities including calculation of requirements using MRP and other tools. Assigned commodities will include electronic components, custom-designed circuit boards and mechanical components.
- Establish and maintain excellent relationships with suppliers to facilitate competitive pricing, on-time delivery, quick resolution of problems and excellent customer service. The Buyer Is expected to be the primary point of contact during price negotiations with suppliers and in the event of complex commercial issues.
- In collaboration with production and sales team, monitor inventory levels and lead times to prevent shortages and excess stock.
- Contribute to cross-functional projects and new product introduction initiatives by working with other departments, especially Research & Development (R&D) and Marketing/Sales, to provide material as needed to support project and New Product Introduction schedules.
- Implement procurement strategies that align with company goals.
- Monitor market trends and analyze supplier performance to make informed purchasing decisions.
- Identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements within the procurement function.

Required Skills and Experience
- Completion or willingness to enroll in a Diploma or Bachelor’s degree program in Supply Chain, Business, or in the CSCP program (Certified Supply Chain Professional)
- Experience in a manufacturing organization.
- Proficient in ERP software and Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word).
- In-depth understanding of supply chain processes and inventory management.
- Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to interpret data and make data-driven decisions.
- Strong negotiation skills with a focus on cost reduction and value creation.
- Familiarity with quality standards and compliance regulations relevant to manufacturing.
- Familiarity with legal requirements of contracts.
- Strong time management, communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work within a diverse work group in a professional and courteous manner.
- Proactive, results-driven mindset with a problem-solving orientation and strong commitment to continuous improvement.
