POSITION: Buyer                                        REPORTS TO: Supply Chain Manager

We are looking for a Buyer to join our Supply Chain team! Our Buyer will be sourcing and purchasing ingredients for our delicious, plant-powerful products.

EXPERIENCE

  • You have proven experience in a high-stress fast-paced environment, preferably in the food industry.
  • You have 3 -5+ years of sourcing and purchasing experience in a manufacturing facility.

NICE-TO-HAVE

  • You have experience purchasing packaging and food ingredients.
  • You have knowledge of international trade and experience working with customs broker.
  • You have co-packer management experience.
  • You have post-secondary education in supply chain management.

THINGS YOU WILL DO…

  • Champion procurement activities in a busy food production environment.
  • Maintain optimal inventory levels, manage material requirements and associated logistics.
  • Source food ingredients and packaging ensuring items purchased follow established policies and procedures.
  • Troubleshoot with internal and external stakeholders on resolving issues such as pricing, delays, deliveries, quality and inventory.
  • Negotiate and track contracts with suppliers providing analytical data and reports to support.
  • May on occasion work at various times including weekends, as the job requires.
  • Ability to travel as needed to visit suppliers and attend industry events
  • Other duties may be assigned as required
