Buyer/ Analyst L1

We are seeking an individual who thrives in following identified procedures and standards to ensure quality materials are available at the most cost effective price, meeting customer demands and inventory objectives. These activities support Hammond Power Solutions to meet the quality, production and delivery goals of our customers. 

Typical duties for the position include, but are not limited to: 

• Planning, procuring and expediting materials through the use of MRP (AX Dynamics) system; 

• Collaborating with Engineering team to interpret designs in order to ensure proper materials are purchased for build; 

• Improve inventory turns to analyze stock and optimize material supply for production support;  

• Support manufacturing with non-conforming materials by coordinating with suppliers to correct and ensure material specifications are achieved; 

• Contribute to Company objective to ship on time by liaising with suppliers to ensure on time delivery is achieved; 

• Act as a support and back up resources to the production planning and purchasing team; 

• Participation as a cross functional team member in projects related to plant efficiency, employee engagement, continuous improvement, 5S and/or ISO9000 requirements. 

As the ideal candidate you will possess the following: 

• Completion of a post-secondary education in Materials or Operations Management / Supply Chain; 

• 1-3 years supporting a plant operation in Materials, Supply chain or Production Planning; 

• Computer skills to utilize ERP system & Microsoft Office, utilizing attention to detail to create and use spreadsheets that analyze data; 

• Excellent communication skills to interact with the team, customers and suppliers about operational matters; 

• Self-directed and organized with effective problem solving/decision making ability; 

• Team player who demonstrates a can-do attitude with the desire to support the team and continuously develop themselves.
