Purpose of Role: The Buyer is a full-time permanent role reporting to the Purchasing Supervisor. This position is responsible for strategic sourcing, negotiation, and procurement services across departments, ensuring optimal cost, quality, and lead time to support customer and operational requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage purchase orders using SAP and Coupa, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery.
  • Build and maintain strategic supplier relationships, monitor performance, and drive improvements.
  • Collaborate with engineering and operations to clarify specifications and support sourcing decisions.
  • Lead contract negotiations and support procurement-related continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Support Lean Manufacturing efforts and provide backup to team members as needed.
  • Safety First: Demonstrate 100% commitment to our zero harm behaviors in support of our drive towards developing a world class safety culture.

Job Knowledge/Education and Qualifications

  • Diploma or degree in a relevant field; SCMP designation preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in procurement or supply chain, ideally in industrial manufacturing.
  • Experience sourcing mechanical components, instrumentation, and related services.
  • Prior experience in sourcing or procuring mechanical components, instrumentation, pipe fittings and related services would be considered an asset.
  • Proficiency in SAP, Coupa, Power Apps, Power BI, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong communication, analytical, and organizational skills with a focus on problem-solving.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet tight deadlines, and work independently with sound judgment.
