THE ROLE
The Buyer is a critical contributor to InnVest’s procurement operations, responsible for executing end-to-end sourcing initiatives with precision, ownership, and accountability. This role demands a strong command of data-driven decision-making, advanced Excel and analytical skills, and the ability to manage complex projects from concept to completion.
The Buyer will lead Request for Proposal (RFP) processes, conduct in-depth quantitative analysis of tender submissions, and provide strategic recommendations to senior leadership. The role requires proactive coordination with multiple stakeholders, management of supplier relationships, and strict adherence to timelines and budgets.
The successful candidate is an energetic self-starter with above-average communication skills, a bias for action, and the ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution. This individual will thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and will take ownership of results across multiple simultaneous projects.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
RFP Development and Management
- Develop and issue comprehensive RFPs ensuring clarity, completeness, and alignment with project objectives and budgets.
- Drive supplier engagement and compliance with submission timelines through proactive communication and follow-up.
Tender Analysis and Recommendation
- Conduct detailed quantitative and qualitative analysis of supplier proposals using advanced Excel functions (pivot tables, lookups, cost modeling, scenario analysis).
- Evaluate financial implications, identify value opportunities, and present data-driven recommendations to senior management.
End-to-End Procurement Execution
- Manage all procurement stages from sourcing through delivery, maintaining ownership of project deliverables, schedules, and cost outcomes.
- Anticipate challenges, develop contingency plans, and ensure smooth execution of purchasing activities across multiple concurrent projects.
Supplier and Stakeholder Management
- Build strong, collaborative relationships with internal teams (design, operations, finance, development) and external vendors.
- Act as a key liaison between stakeholders, ensuring alignment of expectations, timely communication, and solution-oriented collaboration.
Budget and Financial Stewardship
- Track and manage procurement budgets, cost forecasts, and savings targets with precision.
- Support financial reporting through accurate data tracking, variance analysis, and cost control.
Supplier Performance and Continuous Improvement
- Monitor supplier performance metrics to ensure consistent quality, reliability, and service delivery.
- Provide recommendations to maintain and improve the Preferred Vendor List and strategic sourcing initiatives.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, transparency, and cost-effectiveness.
QUALIFICATIONS AND COMPETENCIES
Education
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
Experience
- Minimum 5 years of procurement or purchasing experience, preferably within hospitality, construction, or project-based environments.
- Proven track record managing multiple concurrent projects with budget ownership and tight deadlines.
- Experience with international and domestic logistics is required.
Technical and Analytical Skills
- Exceptional proficiency in Microsoft Excel — must be competent in building complex spreadsheets, financial models, and analytical reports.
- Strong numerical reasoning and analytical aptitude with a highly detail-oriented mindset.
- Working knowledge of ERP, MRP, and SCM systems.

WORKING CONDITIONS

RESPONSIBILITIES FOR RESOURCES
- Accountable for the integrity and confidentiality of procurement documents, project budgets, and vendor relationships.
- Responsible for managing assigned projects and ensuring compliance with procurement policies and standards.
SUPERVISION
- Operates independently under general direction, managing priorities and deliverables with minimal supervision.
